my heart kept aching

chaeyoung woke up from the sound of the door opening and closing shut. she turned to face chanyeol, who was limping. her eyes widened as she noticed the purple bruise on his jaw as well as the bleeding cut on his cheek.
"chan? oh my gosh, what happened to you?" chaeyoung quickly got up from the couch and walked towards the tall giant.
"i'm fine, chae, can you call jisoo?" chanyeol reassured her as he ruffled her hair.
"jisoo? why?" chaeyoung was confused since chanyeol and jisoo never really talked with each other.
chanyeol looked down at her with pleading eyes. "please?"
chaeyoung sighed as she nodded, grabbing her phone and dialing jisoo's number.
"did you find chanyeol?" jisoo questioned as she answered her phone.
"yes," chaeyoung answered as she stared at chanyeol walk off to their room.
jisoo raised her eyebrow in sudden confusion. her brother, suho, looking down at his sister. "then, is there something you need me for?"
"chanyeol wanted me to call you, he didn't say what for," chaeyoung suddenly chuckled. "kind of odd if you ask me."
jisoo looked up at her brother, glaring at him. "oh, i'll be there in 10 minutes, okay?"
"alright." chaeyoung hanged up.

jisoo knocked on the wooden door, sighing as she remembered the pleasant conversation she had with her two older brothers as well as her older half-sister, and friend.
"why in the world would you guys go and face taeyong!?" jisoo questioned as she turned to face suho.
"because that asshole threatened to harm you!" suho shouted.
jisoo stomped her foot as she looked at jin, jinyoung, taehyung, and irene.
"look, jisoo, suho isn't dead-" irene was cut off.
"if it weren't for jin and jinyoung!" jisoo cut irene off. irene looked away as suho,jin, taehyung and jinyoung starred at the ground.
"why can't we be normal? i didn't choose to live this way," jisoo let the tears fall down as she stared at her siblings.
"we aren't harming anybody, jisoo, you know that," irene whispered as she confronted her.
"but we aren't doing anything either." jisoo spat as she grabbed her backpack and left.
chanyeol opened the door, looking down at jisoo. jisoo walked past chanyeol, not waiting for him to let her enter.
"where's chaeyoung?" jisoo questioned as she looked around the room.
"jennie and lisa invited her for a walk since she is still in her worried state," chanyeol replied as he closed the door.
jisoo nodded as she walked over to the kitchen table, taking her backpack off, and laying it on the table. "you can sit down on the chair, so i'm able to treat your injuries."
chanyeol did as jisoo told him, watching as she took out her medical supplies. "how did you know i called you over for that?"
"as your former friend, i did do this for you many times," jisoo replied as she got a sterile gauze pad, dipping it in hydrogen peroxide.
"you know i only left because i was trying to protect you," chanyeol muttered as he looked down.
jissoo scoffed, facing him, pulling his chin up, gently placing the pad onto the cut on his cheek. "you're an idiot, suho was also part of it, and they knew i was his sister."
chanyeol winced. "but-"
"no, your only using that excuse because you knew i loved you and you didn't have the same feelings for me," jisoo interrupted as she took the gauze off, placing a butterfly strip on the small wound. "now, take off your shirt."
chanyeol took off his shirt, frowning as he started to remember when he left jisoo.
"this isn't funny, stop lying," jisoo held chanyeol's hand tighter as the tears poured down her cheeks.
"i'm not lying, i'm leaving you. i don't want to be friends with you. why would i be lying?" chanyeol gently took his hand out of her grip. "just let me go."
chanyeol grabbed his luggage, walking away from jisoo into the crowd of people in the airport.
"yeollie!"
"there all done," jisoo gave chanyeol his shirt back as she began packing up.
before chanyeol could thank her, jisoo was at the door. "before i leave, stop placing my brother in danger, you've always been reckless; stop damaging my life."
with that, jisoo left, closing the door behind her.
