Corbyn, Christina, Daniel and I arrived at the local grocery store. We split up to make the trip faster because my stomach was growling. I tried speeding up but Daniel would always grab onto my arm and make me wait.
"Dani, I'm starving. Let me quickly grab everything and we can go." I told him.
"Baby, I know. But you've got cramps and I wanna get you something special." He pecked my lips before exiting the isle without me arguing.
I was reading the back of a packet of chips when someone took them out of my hands. I assumed it was Daniel but when I turned around, it wasn't. It wasn't Corbyn or Christina but some guy who was rather attractive. He had brown curly hair that was resting at his shoulders, eyes brighter than Daniel's and he was also quite tall. Along with being muscular, he wore a black t-shirt, black ripped jeans and black vans.
"Babe, you can't spell chips without hips. So if I were you, I wouldn't buy that." He whispered rather seductively to me.
"Thanks for your opinion, but I have a boyfriend." His arm was above me and I ducked under it and started walking away from him.
"He's not here, so he'll never know." The guy smirked at me and grabbed me.
"He is here and he will know." Daniel said from behind the guy.
I slipped out of his grasp and ran to Daniel. What is it with guys these days?
"Dani, I swear, I didn't do anything. He came onto me." I told Daniel.
"I know, bubba. Let's go." Daniel whispered to me.
"Connor." Daniel gritted his teeth.
"Daniel." Connor eyed me with a smirk attached to his face.
"Later." Daniel added because he knew I was going to ask.
"Keep your eyes and hands to yourself, dude." Daniel said to Connor.
"Sure, pal." Connor answered before walking past us.
Daniel and I kept on grocery shopping for 10 more minutes. We then ran into Corbyn and Christina who said they were finished. Daniel and Corbyn paid while Christina and I sat outside and waited.
"So this guy came up to me and started grabbing at me. He wouldn't let go of me until Daniel came. Then they said each other's names and the guy walked away." I explained to her.
"What's his name?" She asked.
"Connor. Apparently Daniel knows him, otherwise they would've have said the other person's name." I shrugged.
"Hmm. Better talk to Daniel about it."
"Yeah. He said he was gonna tell me later."
"Ready to go home, ladies?" Corbyn asked us and Daniel showed up a second later.
"Yep." Christina and I got up and walked to the black sprinter van.
We made it back to the Why Don't We house and for the rest of the day we all just chilled out until it was time for Christina to go to the airport. Let's just say it was a sad time for Corbyn and I. But we were all excited to meet Jack's girlfriend, Gabbie. Daniel and I were standing together as Jack was showing off Gabbie.
"I have to talk to you." I whispered to Daniel.
He nodded and we walked away from the group and moved to a quieter location.
"What's up?" He wondered.
"I'm moving back to Australia to get my bachelor's degree in film and tv. I leave next month." I explained.
"How long will you be gone for?"
"The course is for 3 years but I'm cramming into 2 years." I looked at my shoes.
I couldn't bare to look at Daniel's face. We had just gotten back together and this time it was official. We couldn't possibly do long-distance since I would be studying all the time and he would be busy with his band.
Daniel didn't say anything, and he didn't say anything for two days.
"Jonah! It's been two days! He hasn't spoken to me or anyone else! What do I do?" I panicked as I paced throughout the Why Don't We house.
"Sam, you're just gonna have to wait for him to come around. I know it's hard but what can you do?" Jonah said as he sat at the bench.
"Okay." I sighed.
Almost instantly, Daniel had appeared into the kitchen. I wanted to run and jump into his arms but I didn't. I wanted everything to be alright but I had no idea what Daniel was about to say.
"Sam, we need to talk." The most uncomfortable words anyone can say and he said it.
Jonah got up and left the kitchen. I assumed he told the others we were talking because nobody came into the kitchen for a while.
"First, I'd just like to say it was pretty stupid of me to not talk to you for two days but it did give me time to think." Daniel began and he grabbed a hold of my hands.
"What I'm about to say next will probably change forever. Sam, you make me feel so alive and I'm grateful for you but-"
I closed my eyes because I knew what he was about to say.
"We have to let go of each other. I know I said I'll be your friend, but it's too hard. You're moving across the globe and the band is taking off. We just have to part ways." The shakiness in his voice made me start crying.
We've been through so much in so little time but he's right. We have to part ways.
"When you guys get big, don't forget about me. Daniel Seavey, I'll never forget you." I said before kissing his cheek.
And like that, I left the Why Don't We house. I packed up whatever I had left there, hugged the boys and went back to my apartment. The lease was ending the same time I was flying home to Australia so I didn't need to worry about it.
I sighed as I was in the airport and about to start my new life. Away from Los Angeles, away from Why Don't We and away from Daniel.
If you're wondering about Christina, I told her ages ago that I was studying in Australia. She was proud of me for actually doing something with my life but also sad I was moving across the world. We told each other we would always be there for each other.
