Morning comes, just as it always does in Bad Central...just a little less sunlight since they had to hide the city from the heroes.
Because who wants them coming in and arresting mages?
Nyx stretches as she wakes up, pulling off the eye mask she had on her eyes. She swings her legs onto the side of the bed and slips on her slippers.
She then goes over to her bathroom and does her daily routine, involving skin, hair care, and changing into her clothes and putting on her cloak.
Nyx steps outside her room to be greeted by one of her empire's members.
"Zyler is waiting for you downstairs," the elf reports. "It seems that he was gone yesterday for a while."
"That boy does that all the time, tell me something I don't know," Nyx rolls her eyes and makes her way down the spiraling, golden staircase.
"We-well we've been able to make a lot of money by selling in the black market," another elf shows her a tablet with the sales on it.
"Good, make sure to get some more things to sell," Nyx steps down into the marble floor and makes her way to the dining room. "I'm sure there's some Human Mutant we can get the DNA of and sell some more DNA acid! Also, Dark Matter is really selling as well, both things need to be produced so we can get that cash!"
Two elves open up the golden doors for Nyx and she enters the huge dining area with a chestnut table and velvet chairs. A huge, crystal chandelier is hanging from the ceiling, stealing the spotlight from the china surrounding the room and paintings.
"Morning mom," Zyler smiles, waiting for breakfast.
"You haven't eaten yet!" Nyx gasps. "What are you all doing?! Get my son his breakfast!"
"Mom, it's okay really-"
"How dare you not feed my son already?!"
"Mom! I said I wanted to wait for you!"
"You're so sweet," Nyx plants a gentle kiss on his forehead and someone pulls out the chair for her as she sits down, then pushes her back in. "A true gentleman, of course, better than your dad might I add."
"I doubt it," Zyler shrugs. "Dad wasn't too bad at taking care of you."
"Well, I was the love of his life after all," Nyx smiles fondly. "If only he wasn't stupid enough to fall into such a typical trap then maybe he'd still be here."
"Dad wasn't all that stupid," Zyler takes a deep breath. Suddenly feeling guilty for going to his mom's enemy. "But that was a stupid mistake...falling for a Bologo's trap."
"A tragedy really," Nyx sighs as the food is brought in. "I wish he were still here..." Nyx looks at the table with a sad face. "I miss him."
"I miss him too," Zyler holds his mom's hand, the guilt eating at him immensely. But his mom was going to go crazy if she didn't come off of the drug of money.
"That better be squid," Nyx points to the soup.
"It is," one elf says, then all of them disappear in order to let them eat. Nyx eats plenty, which matches her dieting plans while Zyler couldn't stuff more than one serving of fish.
"Seriously, what is with this soup?" Nyx looks disgusted. "This isn't how I like my soup! Remake this!"
"Yes ma'am," an elf, scared, takes the soup away. Nyx looks furious as she slams her hand on the table, the noise echoing throughout the room.
"How dare you serve me with unfit food?" Nyx yells. "I am Nyx! You're supposed to give me what I like and prepare it so!"
"Mom, calm down," Zyler looks over at his mom and sees her getting up.
