CHAPTER THREE.

↳ You Again?

• • •

Ryan Trahan walks out from his room to admire his new apartment. Sure, it had barely any furniture which consisted of a lawn chair on its last limb and a desk make out of books, but it still made the boy smile.

He was excited to finally focus on his Neptune Project, Hydra Merchandise, and his YouTube career. No more college, no more stress on figuring out what he wanted to do with his life. He found it, social media.

Trying not to wake up his roommate, who was unpacking all night, he grabs his keys and slips his shoes on. He was wasting no time to explore the new city that he was living in. For the first day of living in Tampa, he wanted to spend it exploring everything he possibly could.

So, when he heads down to the parking garage to get to his car, excitement raced through the boy. He was thinking about vlogging it, but decided against it.

He pulls out of the garage and starts to stares at the many buildings and people that scatter the city. He was amazed at the amount of people and the beautiful beaches that were only a few feet away.

He absolutely loved it. It was everything he was hoping for when moving to peruse his social media career.

Looking at the other buildings and getting the whole feel of the city, something catches his eye. Squinting at the sign that hung on the side of the building, he finally reads it and understands what it said.

His eyes widen, and his heart begins to race.

Tampa University.

He stops on the side of the road, and continues to stare at the campus. People were walking around to get to their classes, many staring at the boy who was just looking at the building.

How could he forget?

How could he not think that the girl he once fell in love with lived here in this city? How did it never cross his mind that the reason the two broke up was because of this college? He stares at the wheel, barely being able to breathe.

She was here. Ava Jones was here.

The girl that stole and broke his heart just like that. The girl he's only truly loved. He unparks the car, and heads home. Still with many thoughts racing his mind back and forth, he couldn't believe it.

Seriously, how did that slip his mind? Maybe the move was just blocking the fact that she was here? Or was this a coincidence because he sure of hell wasn't thinking about Ava Jones when deciding where he wanted to live.

Almost speeding home to tell Yerrow the news, he begins to think more.

Actually, if Ryan was honest, he never stopped loving her. After she left without saying goodbye, he wanted to do anything possible to be with her.

But, since she left, he decided against going after Ava. If she didn't love him as much as he loved her, then it wasn't worth it. Or that's what he thought.

So the year that he went to Texas A&M, he tried to forget about the girl that was always in his mind. Sure, it worked at times, but the thought of Ava Jones never left the boy's mind. He was truly in love with her.

And when he moved here, I guess it never slipped his mind that the girl he wanted more than anything was anywhere in this city.

Yerrow was sitting at the counter, editing a new YouTube video, when the door slams open with his friend sweating slightly and out of breath.

He begins to pace, setting his keys down on the counter.

"How could I forget?" Ryan asks him, pacing some more.

Yerrow looks around the room, confused on what he was talking about.

"First of all, stop pacing. You're making me dizzy." Yerrow says, making Ryan stop. "Second, forget what?"

"Ava Jones."

"Ava Jones?" he asks, furrowing his eyebrows.

"Yes, the girl I told you about. The one that I dated in high school, but we broke up because of college. The love of my life. The girl that made me a depressed mess in college?"

"Oh yesss, that one." Yerrow points at the boy, making him pace some more. "What about her?" Yerrow asks going back on his computer.

"She lives here. In Tampa." Ryan sits next to Yerrow, making Yerrow look back at him. Suddenly the name sounded oddly familiar and not because Ryan told him about her.

Then, it hit him. She lived across the hallway.

He was about to speak up, but a knock came from the front door, making him stop and look back at the door.

"Answer that. I need to shower and think this over." Ryan sighs, running his hand through his hair.

Yerrow rolls his eyes, and gets up to answer the door. But, when he notices who it was, it shocked him.

"Hey, I saw this by your door, and I was guessing it was yours or your roommate's." Ava says setting the key chain in the boy's hand. She looks up at him with her blue eyes, smiling.

Yerrow couldn't say anything. This was crazy. What was the chance that his friend's ex was living across the hallway?

She looks at him weirdly, waiting for something to come out of the boy's mouth.

"Oh, um, thanks Ava." he finally answers, setting the key chain on the counter by the door.

"No problem, happy to help." she smiles. She walks back to her apartment door, and Yerrow watches. She closes the door, while he just continued to stand there.

He eventually closes the door and turns his back to it.

Should he tell Ryan? A good friend would, but he didn't know if Ryan wanted to see her. I mean, he was freaking out about the thought of her in the same area. If he knew that she slept on a few feet away from him, that would freak him out even more.

He sits back down to edit, when Ryan comes back out showered a few minutes later.

"Who was it?" he asks getting a snack from the fridge.

"Just a neighbor giving back your key chain that you dropped." Yerrow smiles, looking at the key chain that was across the kitchen.

"Oh cool. Who was the neighbor?" he asks, picking up the chain.

"Nobody important."
