CHAPTER FOUR.
↳ Seeing That Familiar Face.

Ava wakes up to arms wrapped around her waist. Smiling, she cuddles more into her boyfriend's chest closing her eyes again. She takes in a deep breath, taking in his scent. At first, she didn't think about it, but then her eyes open wide at the familiar scent.
That scent wasn't Stephen's. It was an old smell, a smell she thought that she would never smell again. Looking up at the boy she thought was Stephen, she gasps and escapes from his arms. The boy sits up, confused.
It was Ryan. Ryan Trahan.
"Is everything okay, babe?" he asks, rubbing his eyes yawning. Ava just shakes her head, unable to speak. What was she doing in a bed with her ex? Why did he call her babe? What was happening?
"Don't call me that. What are doing in my bed?!" she yells, freaking out more. She doesn't remember what happened last night, nor reuniting with her ex.
Oh my god, Stephen. Did she cheat?
"Ava, are you okay?" Ryan asks concerned, making her squint her eyes at him.
"Am I okay? What do you mean?" she asks.
"You're acting like I don't stay over all the time." he laughs getting up and wrapping his arms around her waist. Ava doesn't move, looking up at the long forgotten boy she hoped she would never see again.
Ava couldn't say anything, baffled from what was happening. How was this happening?
He smiles down at her, and begins to lean in. Furrowing her eyebrows, not knowing what to do, she closes her eyes tightly and moving her face away.

Ava instantly sits up in bed, panting from what she just experienced. A dream. A strange dream.
Looking over to her side, she sees Stephen sleeping peacefully. The girl sighs while running a hand through her hair trying to figure out why she had that dream.
The fact that Ava hasn't thought about Ryan in over a year, confused her. Why would she have a dream about him now?
She gets out of bed slowly, trying not to wake up Stephen. Looking at the time, it was only 7 a.m. She walks to the kitchen and grabs a glass.
Thoughts ran through her head, trying to figure out the random dream about her high school ex. Of course, in the beginning when they first broke up, he was always on her mind. But when time went on, and Ava met Stephen, Ryan didn't even cross the girl's mind.
