Chapter 2

It's about 2 hours till dinner starts and after dinner is when girls night starts...I still don't have the "cute" pajamas I should go ask Mr.Rick to take me to go buy some.

I get out of bed and scurry down to Mr.Ricks room. I kinda quietly knock on his door. He opens it with a friendly smile.

"Hey Diana!" He says politely.
"Hey Mr.Rick will you take me to buy some pajamas? Please!?" I say with my nicest smile
"What happened to your pajamas that makes you need to buy more?"

"Nothing they're fine but I got invited to girls night so I"

Then I'm cut off by him saying

"What's "girls night" he says with finger quotations."

"It's when Chelsea and Lucy usually make me leave our room but they invited me." I say I'm one big breath kinda quickly then give him big smile

He breathes in deep and kinda quietly says
" I don't know how I feel about this Diana. Why do you think they had a change of heart?"
I pause for a moment.

"To be honest I don't know but what I do know is that I really wanna go." I say loud and dramatic dragging out some of the words. Then I give him a cute smile with big eyes while rocking back and forth on my feet unsure what he'll say.

"Fine I need some things anyway.He says giving in. Let me get my keys."

"YAY THANK YOU!" I say jumping a little.
He chuckles and shakes his head as I walk away.

I walk downstairs to wait patiently in the living room. As I'm sitting on the couch kinda drifting into a daydream Britney runs up to me.
"H..hey Diana." She says stumbling over her words nervously. "Hey Britney!" I say with a sweet smile. "C..can you help w..with my hair?" She says turning more into a whisper at the end. "Sure!" I say slightly giggling.

I take the brush that she has in her hand and the scrunchie that she had in her other. "Okay Britney what hairstyle do you want?" "May I have a bun?" She says in almost a whisper.
"Sure!" I say smiling letting a small giggle out.

I brush her hair up and twist it into little bun and, wrap it with the scrunchie. I tell Britney to sit there for a minute as I run up to my bathroom to get hairspray. I quickly run back downstairs and smile at Britney. I secure her hair with the cheap hair spray and, she stutters out a thank you. I just give her a smile and she quickly scurries away. I look over at the tv wondering what kids show was on. I stare at it for a while in a mixture of interest and confusion. I suddenly jump to the sound of someone saying my name.

"Ready to go Diana?" Mr.Rick asks.

"Yes!" I say with a nice smile after. We head for the door trying to not step on legos because of the kids that were playing in front of the door. A small squeak leaves my mouth as I step on a red lego. One of the kids mumbles a "sorry." I can tell how much she means it by her not even looking up while saying it. I let out a small sigh knowing that she wasn't sorry that my foot now hurt but she's still a toddler that doesn't really know any better. I keep walking and slowly feel the lego imprint fade.

I go to the passenger side of Mr.Ricks silver minivan the car ride is mostly awkward silence until Mr.Rick turned on the radio. He started singing along to the Britney Spears song which made the awkward silence disappear with giggles and tune deaf singing "AnD I LOVE WHATCHA DO DONT YOU KNOW tHAT You're TOXIC" he sang loudly as we pulled into the target parking lot. We should try and make this trip quick hour until dinner. He said opening his car door. I give him a nod with a serious look on my face and then crawl out of the car.
