CHAPTER THREE

Black Sheep

"Luce...Hon....honey you need to wake up....Luce!" someone nudged me and kept saying my name but I swatted out with my hand to push the person away only to come into contact with warm skin.

I peeked open my left eye to see my mother eyeing me and my hand was gripping her wrist tightly. I bolted up on my bed and let go of her wrist with a sheepish grin.

"Sorry..." I murmured innocently but she rolled her eyes before pointing at my alarm clock on my bedside table.

It's already seven, you have only forty five minutes to get ready. I eyed my clock warily.

"Are you sure..." I murmured and my mother eyed me in concern. I rolled over n my bed and pulled my pillow over my face.

"I don't want to go!" I whined. The pillow covering my face was ripped from my grip and I peeked open my eyes to see my mother holding my pillow and giving me a stern look.

It wasn't till that moment that I realized she was already dressed in a white button up blouse and a black skirt with her traditional black heels. Her caramel coloured hair was pinned into a bun and her grey eyes were full of pure power.

"Fine! I'll get up!" I breathed as I rolled over and sat up on the edge of my bed. My mother gave me a sweet smile which I glared at before she set my pillow aside and straightened her skirt.

"I have to be leaving right now, but your car is here and it's parked out front. Remember when you leave to please lock the door! Your key is on the kitchen table and I may not be home to much later tonight so just please, please, please be careful. I'm asking you kindly." my mother ranted. I nodded.

"When have I ever in the last few years of my life disobeyed you?" I questioned with an eyebrow raised. She seemed thoughtful for a second and then smiled.

"Never." she stated with a grin. She leaned down to give me a kiss on the cheek and then hurried out of my bedroom.

I listened to her footsteps as she walked down the stairs and then the loud slam of the door closing. I sighed heavily.

My mother should've known the true answer. I had obeyed all the rules because even If I hadn't they wouldn't have ever noticed. My parents were always so evolved around there fighting that I could've came home at five in the morning and neither of them would've spoken a word. Even though I could tell my mother was trying to care more now, it was just a lesson she was trying to catch on to, but not very well.

I stretched my arms out before I grabbed my I-phone off of my bed side table and checked it for any messages. There were none from my dad or friends. I felt a little lonely to see that I had no messages at all, but at the same time I didn't really know if I wanted there pity for knowing that I was split from my two parents and moved half way across the world from them.

I set my phone back down and headed into the bathroom.

I stood in front of the mirror and eyed my entire face. I saw a lot of my father in my looks. My skin is pale, fair really, and I have deep brown eyes. My hair falls far past my chest and is naturally curly. I'm not tall, around five' five and I'm fit from my love of taking runs. It's a past time I've been involved in since for ever.

I turned away from the mirror and stripped before getting into a hot shower and washing my hair and body. I felt ten time better after the shower and hurriedly wrapped a towel around my waist before brushing out the tangles in my hair and then allowed it to dry in it's natural curls while I searched for something decent to wear.
