~Fifth Period~

I walk over to Mr. Hines class for biology .This has to be one of my favorite classes because of my lab partner, Daisy Monroe. She is literally one of the smartest girls in school and she is very understanding.

Thinking about random thoughts as usual, I accidentally bump into Mrs. Loam.

"Oops, I'm sorry!" I apologize.

"You're fine dear,"

Then that's when I realize she has a boy at her side along with his mom, I think..? I get a quick glance at the back of his head, a mostly blonde hair color with brunette streaks stunning down the back.

"Now if you'll excuse us Miss Kadence." she says rather firmly. I guess she caught me looking at the boys head.

I wonder what she was doing with the family, hopefully not touring the school for a new student to join. I don't think Mrs. Loam understands how crowded this place is. It's so crowded that some students have to share a locker.

I finally make my way over to the table where Daisy is fiddling with her glasses. Her long brown curls bounce at her shoulders as she flips open her notebook to the page that the whiteboard says.

"Hi Daisy." I say with a small smile.

"Hi Kadence! I have an idea for the project for next week!" she says eagerly.

"Really, what is it?"

"Well I was thinking that-" Daisy was cut off as Mr. Hines silenced the class.

"Hello class, open up your books to page 37 and begin to read until paragraph 8."

I nod my head and begin to do so and I feel a slight tap on my shoulder. Daisy is holding a crumpled piece of paper in her hand and gives it to with her eyes saying 'read that.'

'I was thinking for the project that we could grow a plant in one type of soil and in the other soil we could grow the same plant to see which one grows fastest and stays the healthiest.'

I nod and begin reading page 37.

At the end of class, I stop by at my piece of junk (aka my locker) to grab my Social Studies homework and start working on it for free period. I walk over to a bench outside on the courtyard where Christina joins me as usual.

"So anything happen today?" I ask her. She usually has some pretty funny stuff to talk about like how one time Jeffery Peterson opened the frogs in the back of the room and scared Mrs. Whitman.

"Yah I actually do, you'll love to hear this story!"

"Go on,"

"So in writing I had a sense that Reece was looking at my laptop when I was writing my 'essay.' So, when I went to go to the printer at the front of the room to get my story, I saw Reece copying my story-"

"What, how is that funny? Nina, she was copying your work!" I say with worried eyes.

"You didn't let me finish." Nina lightly laughed.

"So any away, I had a feeling she would do that because ya know, Reece isn't the brightest student. I made a fake story so that she'd get that one and not the real essay! I can't believe she actually fell for it!"

"Did she share it?"

"You're sure as heck she did, loud and proud!"

"The whole class was laughing, even Ms. Korey was snickering."

"Wow, I wish I could've been there." I say as I focus back onto my homework.

The rest of the Friday passes quickly and I walk back home. Turning right on Grove Ln, I spot a familiar blonde head in the passenger seat of an Acura, along with the same woman. Wait, wait... Behind them is a moving truck.

Maple Heights High School is getting a new student.

Ahhh! A new student! How will this all work out with it being crowded there? You'll have to keep reading to find out! ✌️
