I lounge on the couch flipping through the channels and eating my Chinese food I ordered earlier. It's already 11:30 in the afternoon and I haven't got up from this couch except to pay for the food. I'm still pretty upset but a bit better and my eyes are puffy and red

I still can't stop thinking about last night when Niall came over. He was very understanding and sweet, and then he kissed me on the forehead! I mean, forehead! It's not a very big deal, but, still. I didn't know it was possible to feel like this after just a kiss on the forehead.

It snowed last night, leaving me stuck in doors with nothing to do, except to grieve over what my parents told me. I still can't get over the fact about that...

"Makenna and Nina called," my mom says while interrupting my thoughts.

"What'd they say," I groan. I have a headache and I don't really wanna surround myself with other people, even though I love them to bits.

"They asked if you wanted to go outside and play in the snow, and maybe have a sleepover after,"

"No Mom-"

"Kadence, you're gonna go do it. I can't keep you cooped up in here, it's unhealthy." Mom sighs. "I know it's a hard time, but just go out and do something, okay?"

I have to give in, I guess it is kinda a bad plan to be kept in here... "Okay, but you can't expect me to enjoy it,"

"It's with Makenna and Nina, you know you'll like it," she smiles, causing me to laugh. I guess I haven't seen them in a while so this may be good.

I stretch my sore muscles and head upstairs to change. I catch a glance in the mirror, and I look horrible. My eyes have circles under them, I have hair sticking out on my head from every angle, my lips are dry and cracked and my skin is pale. I guess not doing anything does have a toll. I decide to shower before I do anything.

The hot water relaxes my muscles and I start to smell better after I add some shampoo in my hair. After I finish, I warp my towel around my body and take a peek in my closet.

I decide to go with my 'I Ran the Flurry 5 K' shirt from last year along with my thick leggings, boots and a light weight coat. I also thrown in a beanie with cat ears on it, matching the colors to my coat. I actually praise my self for actually trying to look decent today. I head over to my vanity and braid my hair to the side and add some lipgloss and mascara.

I trot outside to find Nina and Makenna standing with their concerned facial expressions.

"Oh my god, are you okay?" Nina says and hugs me for a good 15 seconds.

"Uh, yah I'm fine," I reply quickly.

"We know you are not," Makenna sighs. "We were so upset when we heard the news, I went through a whole box of tissues."

"I'm really sad too, but I heard y'all wanted to make me feel better, and so far this hasn't been helping," I laugh.

"Oh right, let's go!" Nina says and tugs my hand along with her.

We end up going to the woodsy area of the neighborhood. It was beautiful! Icicles hung down from branches and the snow was like a blanket, with little animal prints dotted in. The air was crisp and it smelled like Winter. We finally got to a good area and they told me that we were gonna build a snowman.

"So, how do you do this?" Makenna asks while blushing.

"You've never made a snowman before?" Nina and I gasp at the same time.

"Yah, I mean no ones ever showed me," she laughs.

We show Makenna the steps to rolling the snowballs, and she catches on quickly.
