Kaori's POV
I waited by the phone desperate for an answer.
Don't say you miss me when you don't call.
When Kousei arrived home a week later I was surprised.
We sat in silence eating take out.
I needed to get this off my chest.
"Kousei do you love me anymore?" I asked
He looked at me.
He didn't answer instead he left without word I sat under the light above our table.
That next week I waited by the phone.
Don't say you're hurting without the scars.
"Kousei, do you love me anymore?" I asked again
He didn't answer back.
I slapped him across the face.
Sick of the silence between us.
I mean we should be able to talk to each other.
"Kousei, answer me!" I said
More silence I left in a hurry.
A year passed we didn't see each other.
I worked at a cafe.
Kousei stopped by with a blond a replacement of me.
"So the dog says "It takes courage to said in uncharted waters!"
I listen in on their conversation from the table behind them.
I noticed she was wearing an engagement ring and they were........holding hands.....in public.
He never did that with me.
"So that's two coffees and 2 donuts." I smiled taking the order I handed it back to the chef.
I needed to seem happy.
Watori was there with his daughter Lilly who had blonde hair and hazel eyes she was 4 months old.
"Watori, psst can I borrow you're daughter for a second?" I whispered in his ear
"What why?" He said
"You have to help me get Kousei back come on! I'll give you a donut on the house!" I said
"Okay." He said
I slid off my apron and took the carrier walking by Kousei.
Watori walked beside me and smiled.
"Is he looking?" I mouthed
"Yes." Watori mouthed back
"Ah, Kaori what a nice surprise." Kousei smiled
"Can't say the same." I said blankly
"What are you doing here?" He asked
"Helping Watori babysit." I said
"Who's kid?" He asked
"His." I stated
"Oh."
"Yeah..." Watori whined
"Who's the mom?"
"Tsubaki."
"Oh."
"Yeah...." Watori whined
"Well we best get going." I said and walked off
As we went outside I wiped my forehead.
"Who was that with him?" I screamed at him
"Emily Bettina." Watori stated
"She's married! What the he- I mean heck is she doing with him!" I asked
"Her husband is an old man so she kinda gravitates towards younger people."
"Ohhhhhhhhh." I said and handed Watori a donut which he gladly took.
Kousei came out of my parents restaurant.
"Kaori, do you love me anymore?" He asked
"No." I said and walked off
