Kanda POV
I cleared my throat feeling extremely uneasy of the feeling of fingers dancing through my silky locks (pfft even Kanda admitted his hair is bootiful >w<). Kaze's mother smiled and began to lace something in my hair. I gave up and closed my eyes. Her name was Shīrudo (シールド) meaning Shield. She was a innocence containing the spirit of Kaze's mother. Her very soul kept the very innocence alive. If Kaze were to every die the spirit in the innocence would instantly died becoming a uncontrollable weapon. Kaze explained when the fire spread into the house and before the crib. His mother had leapt in and placed him in her coat protecting him from the flames. His mother then had began to be burned alive but somehow when she died the shell necklace that was once hers given to him at birth. Burned becoming ash and his mother disappeared and became golden lighted ashes and fell along with the necklace. A flash encased the room ceasing the flames and a golden necklace appeared instead of ashes. He said that シールド had appeared and took him into the woods. She would turn into various animals putting on plays for him. She also danced  gliding over water like a graceful butterfly. She had taught him people did terrible things but if you look carefully you will find those who try their best to undo wrong. And that the disappearances were true. Mainly, children would come in and be killed by the akuma. Mother would find them and cry but turned them into animals. Mother always liked animals better than humans.
She said humans are blinded by themselves and selfish. Faking everything about themselves only to please others not themselves. Yet judging others forcing them to change into something they don't want to be. Humans wear masks and die without anybody knowing whats under it. Those who try are rejected since people are jealous of their bravery to show it.
But animals don't care about masks because they don't wear them instead embrace the feeling to be free. They show that the life we live is the one we chose not the one others chose for us. Animals bring people to life.

"So thats why people don't return from the woods as human but as a creature?" I asked as シールド finished tying whatever she put in my hair.

Kaze looked up from his position from the ground and nodded, "Mother believes that once they become a creature of earth they release their masks and live the life their ment to live"

シールド flipped my head towards her and traced her fingers onto my cheeks and spoke in a soft voice," You wear a mask with deep scars laced into it and the very look of your face brings haunting memories. Yet put on tough exterior to fool those on the outside who believe you're an unbreakable man. But inside your a broken child trembling with fear. And crying for someone to hold you."

"How would you know?"

"I see things humans are blind to embrace. I see you desire to take it on your own and will not disturb your wishes. But you will need to let go soon. For you will break. Death will not destroy you, you will be the cause of your own destruction, Kanda Yuu."

I gasped slighty as she stood and walked over by Saka. She  picked up flowers and fixed them into Saka's hair. I felt mine and found a golden vine intertwined into my locks. I looked at my reflection in the crystal clear water and instantly reached over to splash my fingers in it to blurr my image. But a hand stopped me.

シールド stood behind me and inter wined it with my. Tears fell from her face and I found something falling from my own. She hugged me and let me cry into her shoulder. I glanced to find both Kaze and Saka sleeping. And smiled crying again.

"Its okay let your mask fall and let it out." I did just that and a small thump filled my ears. My mask fell revealing a small child who needed nothing but love.
(Sorry I wasn't really feeling good and decide to at least try to write something)
