Did you know that when people have an easy time waking up in the morning they are most likely looking forward to the day ahead of them? I am not one of those people. Not to sound cliché but I really do not like Mornings, it's also the first day year 11 for me. What a glorious day!

I made a very non-human noise and go out of bed.

I stood up and slowly untangled myself from the blanket. My body felt heavy and I just wanted to collapse right there. I knew it was my fault for staying till 3:00am playing video games, secluding myself as usual. I ran a hand threw my light pink fringe. It was dirty blonde but I have died it a couple times over the summer and now its a fairy floss pink fringe. I like it actually, most strangers look at me like I must be out of my mind and smaller kids just want to touch it but I don't mind; I find it cute actually.

I put of the new clothes i got, it consist of a pair of black skinny's, a very loose cream colored sweater that gave me sweater paws and converse.

(MIKEY WITH SWEATER PAWS WILL BE THE DEATH OF ME)

"Michael what are you still doing up there? You need to come eat breakfast." My mum demanded.

"Be right down, just got to grab my bag" I yelled back. I grabbed my bag and ran down the stairs. "So what's to eat?" I asked already knowing because on the counter sat two pieces of toast smothered with nutella, its really a great way to start the morning.

A loud knock was at the door and i already knew it was Ashton . He was basically the only person I knew at that horrible school who actually acknowledged my existence. We've been best friends since the being of year 9. It may seem not very long but in my eyes it was.

I put my things in the sink and kissed my mum on the cheek. I swung open the door and saw Ashton smiling and giggling a little. Who the hell giggles on the first day of school? Ashton of course. I closed the door and dragged the overly happy boy down the street. "Why are you still smiling?" I groaned loudly. "I have something to tell you but you never asked till now so I will now tell you" Ashton said smiling even bigger, if that was possible I mean.

"We are getting a new student who is rumored to be super attractive but i don't know if its a boy or girl yet that's that problem."

It was only a 10 minute walk to the school and I was glad for that. We entered the school and then went our separate way since our lockers are on different sides of the school.

After getting my stuff from my locker I started heading to my homeroom. I sat down in my usual spot, right beside a girl named Brit. She said she hated her real name because she thought it made her sound like a cheerleader stereotype, I told her that I didn't think that but everyone still called her Brit.

She was cute; She had long brown hair, big brown eyes and a petite body. Too bad I was more into boys, but if I wasn't I would totally go for her. And If I didn't mention it I am slightly gay.

"Hey Mikey" she said in a chirpy tone. That's one thing I didn't like about her; she was always happy. Not to sound harsh or anything but it was truly annoying. She strongly reminded me of Ashton. or maybe I just missed him. No, never mind she's basically Ashton is girl form.

"Hey Brit how's your day so far" I said trying the smallest bit to engage in conversation.

"Its fine I guess, not the best but fine" Ok I'm sure that was enough human interaction for one day.

Classes started and I wanted to puke they were so boring. I kept getting in trouble for the most ridiculous things so that made it even worse. Lunch came and gone and I was back in my home room. there stood in the door way a small brunette boy with tan skin and a chubby looking face. he was quite cute if I say so myself.

The teacher came into the room and motioned for the boy to follow, he looked like such a cuddly puppy. "Quiet down please!" The mans voiced bellowed. The whole room becoming almost silent. "Ok thank you, we have a new student and his name is Calum Hood. Please treat him with kindness seeing that it is his first day" Calum waved a little looked down at his shoes, playing with the hem of his shirt. He walked away the teacher but stalled a little and looked around the class for a empty seat. His eyes met with mine and he made a beeline for my table. "Hi" We both squeaked out at the same time. "I'm Michael" Looking up from my arms that were folded on the table. "I like your hair" He said out of no where. No one in this entire school has told me they liked my hair before. I couldn't help but smile. I covered my smiled with my sweater clad hands and giggled a bit. For the rest of the class Calum and I talked and got to know one another. Well he talked I nodded and listened. He was quite weird if I say so myself.

The rest of the school day went on and I quickly became friends with Calum. I learned he had a step brother named Luke who was younger by 1 year but went to a different school across town. Luke's mom and Calums dad married when they were 4 and those two boy have been best friends ever since.

"Michael?" Calum whispered.

"Yeah?"

"Do you want to come over today after class ends. You'll get to meet Luke and we can just hang out"

"I would but I was gonna hang out with my friend Ashton but-"

"He can come to if he wants" Calum said cutting me off.

I felt so proud of myself. I actually gained a friend on the first day of school. That never happens. The bell rang and Calum and I rushed to my locker. Ashton was standing there his back to my locker and his eyes closed as if he was sleeping standing up.

"Ash?" "Huh- what, ya I'm here" He replied snapping back into reality. I waved him over and said hi to him. "I made a friend, his name is Calum. He wants to know if we would like to come over" I whispered in his ear while he gripped my waist. He pulled away and smiled. He didnt have to say anything I knew he was proud of me.
