Multiple questions ran through her mind all at once. What if she was less than others? Does everyone think that? Does everyone hate her and she didn't even realise it? She shrugged off her friends' attempts to comfort her, pestered by her constant thoughts. Leona felt hurt to think that all those people in her classes actually may not like her, just because of her parents. Finally deciding to let it go and stop being stupid, Leona took a deep breath and forgot about the insult.

Leona came down to breakfast the next day feeling much better about the whole ordeal and pretended it didn't matter anymore.

However, there was only one problem today. Defence Against the Dark Arts with Snape and the Slytherins. This was a recipe for disaster and Leona knew nothing good would come out of this lesson. Her fellow Gryffindors weren't that cheery either, but they kept telling themsleves that it would be fine and it wasn't that long a lesson.

Reluctanly they went to their first lesson and sat down quietly. Snape watched them, eagle-eyed, waiting for a Gryffindor to make the slightest mistake so he could take points away.

He began with a scowl, taking down the register and telling them what they would be learning. As they were writing it down, Leona heard a whisper from in front of her. She looked up only to find herself staring into grey eyes.

"Psst, what did Hermione say? I'm surprised her bunch of friends haven't hexed you into oblivion yet." he smirked and his friends sniggered.

"You set me up, you knew she would get offended! Get lost Draco. "she whispered back, her voice full of venom.

"Or what? You actually going to do something in front of Snape?" he sneered. Snape glanced towards them but looked away when he noticed his star pupil.

"No. I'm not stupid." she knew what he would say next, she had set herself up.

"Really? This is coming from the person who didn't even know what I meant."

"Doesn't mean I'm stupid, it means I'm not a jerk." their conversation was so low, only the people near them could hear.

"How dare you! Filthy mudbood." he spat. As Leona took in the insult, tears pricked her eyes.

"Shut up." her voice broke at the end and Draco's glare faltered. Usually Hermione, or anyone for that matter, would just glare back and that meant he knew he had hit a nerve but he hadn't hurt them badly. As he looked at her, he felt something weird in the pit of his stomach. She looked...broken. He realised it was guilt and got angry with himself. Why was he guilty?

In his anger he sneered, "Awww, are you going to cry? Didn't know Mudblood's had feelings." It wasn't quietly and there were a few gasps from around the room. That did it for Leona. She got up out of her seat.

"Shut up, Draco!" she yelled.

"Leona! Detention for shouting in class." Snape said immediately, "and Draco you have detention too. That word is not to be used in my class. Stay back after class." Snape seemed unusually angry at Draco which took him by surprise. Leona sighed and sat down, ready to get back to work.

At the end of the lesson, Leona went to the front ready to receive the time of her doom. It on Saturday at 9am.

"Oh but sir-" Draco started.

"You will be there, or you will get double detention." Snape said simply.

They took their separate ways but soon had to meet up for prefect duties. They went around the corridors barely saying a word before Draco burst out:
