Sorry for the late update! There is a lot of information on vampires, please read and let me know what you think. Enjoy!

***Nikolasz's POV***

"Starting descent. Please secure all unstowed luggage and buckle your seatbelts. We will be landing in about a quarter of an hour." My club bouncer and pilot's- Jay's deep voice sounded over the intercom.

"What are you doing love? Come sit with me." I asked Emma who was now pacing back and forth and muttering to herself.

She stopped and looked at me with wide eyes. "It's almost noon here in Switzerland! How are all of you going to get off the plane without, without?!" Her hands started making motions of bodies exploding.

*Chuckle*

"Love, I don't think I've explained vampirism properly." She pursed her lips and narrowed her eyes at me. "We can walk in the sun and not burn or whatever it is that you're imagining."

"What about holy water, sacred ground, silver, wooden stakes, garlic?" Her worries slowly started to fade as she glanced sideways at my unconcerned face and sat down. I can feel my lips turning into a smile at her silly human notions of vampires; she's just so cute.

"All harmless except for the wooden stakes. Fire and wooden stakes are lethal." She looked deep in thought with her chin resting on her knuckles sitting cross legged on the edge of the bed.

"So the only drawback for vampires is the whole blood drinking thing?"

"We need to drink blood at least once a week to successfully avoid the dangers that could happen from not keeping our blood magic at a level to keep our vampirism attributes. It's kinda like breathing air for humans, its a involuntary response to keep oxygen flowing through the human body. Blood magic supplies we get from drinking blood is like oxygen for our bodies to keep up the vampirism qualities such as: our eternal youth, physical feats, and magic; and blood keeps us from feeling deprived, or as we call it, going 'red'. Also, the longer you live without your mate the higher the chance you'll turn 'red,' because vampires feel emotions more intensely than humans. Meaning, we deeply feel the loss of our other half creates if they are not around."

"What's 'red' exactly?"

I tried to swallow the lump forming in my throat just thinking about my men that turned 'red' and attacked Emma at the club. It's not helping that I haven't replenished my blood levels since I met her two weeks ago. "Red is an appropriate name for a vampire that goes insane and can be spotted by the rivers of blood they leave in their destructive wake. They lose all reason and think only of blood because their body has little to no blood-magic left to continue being a vampire and will die. Their thirst is so strong that none have come back from their 'red' state and have to be killed. The first sign of a vampire going 'red' is that their eyes will literally turn red. Just like the vampires that attacked you at the club." The last part I spoke quietly. I almost lost her that night and it was my fault. The image of her torn and blood soaked body still haunts me when I close my eyes. I should have sent all of the unmated vampires out of there as soon as I knew that they were a threat... Maybe they would still be alive... *Sigh* Tonight is the night I need to force myself to feed. It may be repulsive now that I've found her but I can't risk losing control no matter how much I want to taste her... I imagine her tasting like roasted apples bake with honey...

My dangerous train of thoughts were interrupted by her warm hands framing my face. Why does this feel so good? It always feels like she connects us deeper every time she does little gestures like this. "Hey" She bit her bottom lip and looked at me with heavy concern that wrinkled her forehead. "What's wrong?" I wish I could tell her that I want to sink my teeth into the tender spot on her pulsing neck. I wish I could tell her that it's eating me away inside that I can't be with her like other mates are with each other. I wish I could tell her all of that without her feeling bad about being my mate and sorry that she is human. But, I know she'll take it to heart and demand, plead, beg, for me to drink her blood to stop my suffering. It's just how she is; she always puts others before herself... and I wouldn't be strong enough to say no...
