The air was damp, you could just feel the weight of the humidity on your body. The light came from the moon in rays through the leaves of trees. The stars like diamonds glistened in the sky above.
Max's breath came choppy and shaky. His throat was raw from gasping for breath.
Where am I?
Just a second ago he was laying down taking his pill for his insomnia, now he's in some sort of forest.
"HELLO!"
You could hear the echo of his strained voice, but just as quickly silence was the only thing there was.
He could hear the beat of his heart as it raced irregularly.
-snap-
The crunch of a stick had every hair prickle up and down his neck and spine.
He dared not turn around for what might be behind him.
The scraping of bark came from all directions. Beads of sweat dripped from his nose. All he wanted was to shut the noise out. Like chalk on a board the sound became louder, it grew faster, it penetrated his ears. "LEAVE ME ALONE!"
He screamed to the forest, but who was there to listen.
The silence stopped. His head throbbing, he stared into the darkness as he saw a shadow dash away.
"WAIT, COME BACK!"
He kicked the dirt up behind him as he ran for the person.
-gasp-
After what seemed like hours, whoever that was, is gone.
He leaned over as it seemed like he might throw up.
His arm propped up on a tree, he rested.
Something felt wrong.
He turned his head toward his hand and saw it sinking into the tree!
"NO,NO PLEASE!"
He tugged at his arm but it was held on to by something.
And then he felt something. Something frightening. He felt the heat of breath against the back of his neck.
"Hello. Time to wake up."
The hands of a creature grabbed his head...and twisted.
