Holly's point of view

I wanted to take my mind off of Jordan and the small mishap that we had at the hospital, but I also wanted to take Taylor out for the first time, we had been together for nearly a month now and I really wanted to do something special for her, I knew her mind seemed a bit in the clouds, she constantly was over thinking things, but I had no idea what, so I was praying that this date would really relax her.

I had decided to order Sushi for our picnic because I knew she loved it, I packed up the picnic basket and loaded it into the back of the car, I left Taylor a note on the bed for when she got out of the shower, I then got myself ready in some white high waisted skinny jeans and a light grey cropped jumper with some light grey converse, I grabbed my car keys and left, I made my way to the beach and went and set up the picnic. Twenty minutes later I got a phone call from Taylor, I clicked the answer button and held my phone to me ear

(Authors note H=Holly and T=Taylor)

H- "Hello"

T- "Hey, where are you?"

H- "I'm at the beach, get into your car and come down here, I have a surprise for you"

T- "okay I'm on my way now"

I hung up the call and chuckled lightly to myself at how excited she sounded, I lit the battery powered lights that I had, they were dim and lit up what I needed without being to bright. I sat and waited for about 10 minutes knowing it wouldn't take her long to get here. I looked over to the entrance of the beach and saw her walk onto the cool sand, she stopped for a second taking in the scenery and to look for me, I had chosen a corner of the beach far enough away from the tide and close to a cliff that had vines growing up it in delicate patterns, Taylor turned her head and saw me making her way over to where I was now stood waiting, she got to where I was patiently waiting, she gasped as she saw the picnic basket in front of her "Holly what is all this?" She asked as she looked at me smiling widely "well we haven't had a proper date yet, plus we both have things on our mind, so I thought that it would be nice to spend the night on the beach" I replied as I dug my foot into the sand, and watched as she admired the picnic blanket I set out and the small lights that were lit dim in the darkness, the only other light being the moon itself, she turned to me, her smile so wide I was surprised her face didn't break "so do you like it?" I asked my voice hopeful.

Taylor's point of view

I knew Holly was a hopeless romantic but I never realized that she was this romantic, it was cliche but I found it so adorable, nothing like this had ever been done for me and I was beyond happy, I loved that she decided to do this and at such a good time "so do you like it?" She asked me hopefully, I didn't know what to say so I wrapped my arms around her neck and connected our lips, her hands snaked around my torso, our mouths moulding together perfectly as they moved in the right timing, I pulled back breathlessly and breathed out "I love it" it was a whisper but it was full of as much sincerity I could put into one sentence.

Holly's smile grew as she sat down patting the space next to her "well I have one more surprise" she said, I had no idea what she could possibly have left up her sleeve, but my questions were soon answered as she pulled out my favorite food from her small basket "you got me sushi?" I asked stunned that she'd remembered the conversation we had on the first night we spent together in my apartment "of course, it's your favorite" she replied smiling to herself "I love you" I spoke out freely, the words so well known to my mouth, they easily rolled off my tongue with so much meaning and sincerity "I love you too" she replied, her voice was still rasped from the screaming, but her voice so sincere the words sounding so genuine to my ears it made me smile, my stomach erupted every time she said it to me and my heart rate picked up.

We sat eating and making small talk, till finally we had finished our food and I sighed in content, the beach was so peaceful, I looked out and watched my surroundings taking in the scenery, it was so beautiful and the night was perfect, the sea was calm as it's waves crashed against the shore, the moon casting a reflection across the tide, not a single disturbance as the sound filled my ears and the light breeze brushed against my skin, I could smell the salt from the water and as I looked up to the sky, I had not seen it so full before, sparkling small shiny stars glistened above me as if they were specks of glitter on a piece of black card, I closed my eyes in content and felt at peace for the first time in the past couple of days, all my worries seemed to wash away with the tide and I felt that I had found the serenity in myself to continue on with things a much stronger individual, but also a stronger couple because I knew I was not battling this alone.

Holly's point of view

I looked over to Taylor and admired her, the way that she watched the sea and the moon, the sigh of content that came from her, I was glad I decided to do this for her, I was sure now that she was my everything and I am prepared to do anything for her. I watched her close her eyes and I fell in love with her even more than I already had. I laid down and just watched the stars, I smiled in content and stayed there, I felt Taylor lay on me and curl up to me as she too watched the stars "they're beautiful aren't they?" She asked as she continued to stare and the small balls of gas that held so much interest to me, I was so intrigued by them, maybe it's because the stars are such a apart of us, made up of the same things we are, maybe that's why we feel so drawn to them, like there's a force pulling us towards them, a gravitational pull that drags out souls towards them, granting us peace at heart and peace in life, calming us.

We watched the stars for hours just making small talk and enjoying each other's company. The air became colder and we decided it was time to go home, we packed up the picnic and got into our separate cars to go home, we pulled into the driveway and I left the stuff in my car as I locked it and made my way into our apartment.

Taylor was close behind me as she came in I was stood in my underwear trying to find my pajamas, I was slightly shocked when I felt Taylor trace the small tattoo I had on my hip, it was a feather that leaked off into birds symbolizing freedom, it was a meaningful tattoo and I loved it, I turned to her and smiled as she admired my tattoo, I got goosebumps at her touch as I finally managed to pull my tank top over my head along with a pair of sweats, Taylor proceeded to change and we crawled into bed together "what does that tattoo mean?" She asked in a whisper, her voice tired and raspy "it symbolizes freedom, my freedom, the one I finally got when I left home" I replied meaningfully, I thought about my life then and how much it had changed since I got those tickets and that fateful day I met Taylor, it was safe to say she was one if the best things that had ever happened to me. I was shook from my thoughts as I felt Taylor snuggle into me and her breathing evened with small snores leaving her perfect full lips that were slightly parted, I smiled and sighed contently as a darkened slumber tried to take me over, the inevitable nightmares of the events that occurred ready to come into play, this made me restless and I found myself fighting sleep and denying the darkness to take me over until it became too much to bare and I fell into a night full of thrashing about and screams early hours of the morning as the light dawned upon the earth.
