Ember Harper's POV:

Sitting on a royal furniture in the living room, I insecurely watched as these three people talked freely.
Looking normal, they could definitely pass as usual people.

But I kept reminding myself they were animals. Sharp white canines and dangerous long claws were apart of them.

"And what about you, Ember? Where are you from?" The woman asked all of a sudden, making me snap out of my trance and look up back to her.

"Not so far away from here." I forced, not knowing what else to answer. God dammit, I did not know where I was right now or how much I traveled to get here.

"Ou-" she began speaking, but was cut off as soon as the crashing sound erupted in the house.

All four of us looking at the front door, we saw Brutus standing widely. His chest heaved up and down, his eyebrows knitted together.

"What happened, son?" His father asked, getting up to his feet. Even though this man must've been over 50, he did not look a day older than thirty-five.

"The rogues!" He shouted angrily, knocking down the first thing that was in his sight. And that was a big glass vase, which was now shattered in million small pieces on the cold tile ground.

The loud noise made me jump up, which attracted Brutus' attention. But also, his mother's.

"Come here darling, let's go upstairs." She said, looking at me with pure and understanding eyes.

Nodding without any second thought, I placed my hand in hers that she previously had reached out. She took me up the two flights of stairs, making me confused to where we were going.

After a decent amount of time, she stopped in front of a room with big wide doors. The room looked normal.

It was a guest room, I was guessing by the perfectly made bed and nothing personalized in it.

She guided me to the bed and closed the door after us, then sitting on the bed with me.

Feeling relieved that I was almost alone, I slightly relaxed my back muscles.

"Ember, you don't have to be afraid of us. We won't do you any bad." She spoke, killing the deadly silence that was surrounding us in a breeze.

I blinked, looking down onto the burgundy sheets.

"I am kept against my will, I don't really know how to feel." I said quietly, a small poisonous hint of sarcasm floating in the sentence.

"With a reason." she answered softly, making me finally look at her properly

I took a look at her green eyes, one of the many traits she shared with her son. They held no bad intentions, which was not something I was usually used to.

"What can be the reason of kidnapping someone?" i asked, making her let out a fit of wholehearted giggles.

"My dear, this is not kidnapping. Brutus just does not want you to leave him, you are his..." she trailed of, struggling with the words.

"Mate." I finished off the sentence, making her nod with ease.

"Yes, you are his mate. His Luna. Someone that Moon Goddess destined him to." She said, looking outside the window with a bright smile on her face.

I now knew she was turned back to some of her memories, which seemed to be wonderful, by the look on her face.

"You know, you might not have a good opinion on him now... But trust me when I tell you this, I've almost never seen him so happy in his whole life." She said, her eyes now fluttering with happiness.

He was happy?

Gulping, I forced myself too look down again. My thoughts were piled up, I was truly questioning myself.

"H-how?"

"You will need some time to get used to him, I know I needed time also. But on the end, it will all turn out just right." He reassured me, reaching out to grab my hand once again

Her touch was warm, a touch of a harmless female was just what I needed to calm my wilding nerves.

One side of me screamed, get away from her.

The other side screamed louder, accept it.

So, I did nothing. I was quiet, all of my words were now long gone and forgotten.

And deep down, I was questioning myself again.

What would a happy life with him be like?

"He is a sweetheart." She explained, trying to convince me desperately.

"As you said, I will need time." I said, my normal voice now turning back.

I was no longer whispering.

Suddenly, a loud knock erupted through the quiet room. Both of us jumped up, seeing Brutus' father's head pop up.

He was slightly smiling, only good intentions radiating off him.

"Its time to go, darling." He called his wife, making her refer a small grin to me before walking out the door.

And then, I was again all alone with a tall man called Brutus...
