Ember Harper's POV:

Wrapping my arm around his, I walked at his right side as we took small steps down the green garden the I never have noticed.
The colorful variety of beautifully kept flowers were the first ones to catch my attention that was previously focused on anxious thoughts. Lilies, tulips, sunflowers and roses were the most eye catching in my opinion.

"My mother loves flowers, you know? When we all lived here together, we used to garden together." Brutus voiced, a warm tone lacing his thunderous voice and flashbacks twinkling in his eyes.

He loved his mother, I could just tell by the way he radiated off with happiness when he spoke of her. She was a petite gifted woman, very thoughtful as I saw her.

After making a small stop next to a bush of bloody red roses, we proceeded to walk over to a small wooden bench that was hidden beneath a towering willow tree. We sat down, my curiosity eating me inside out.
i wanted to know more of this man, his mysterious self never letting me know much.

"Tell me something about yourself." I demanded softly, my eyes meeting his. With a slight hum, he wrapped his two long calloused fingers around a strand of my hair and started twirling it around.
unintentionally, I found myself leaning in towards his hand.

He noticed it, without a doubt, but instead he started speaking about himself.

"I am the only child, so automatically I would become an Alpha." He spoke, the word Alpha ringing in my ears especially.
I made a mental note to ask him about... his people.

"I grew up in this house, there is nothing interesting about me, mi bella. What about you?" He questioned, his accent thick on mi bella.
It was a nickname in Italian, but unfortunately I did not know what it meant.

Feeling as I became more nervous, I started talking
"My mother passed out when I was very young, but you already know that. My step father was quite...forceful and aggressive."

As soon as I mentioned my step father, Brutus' muscles have tensed up and he looked down at me with narrowed eyes.

"In what way was he forceful?" He asked lowly, making my eyes widen with realization of his dark thoughts.

"Not in a sexual way, no!" I denied, but that did not make him any less tense and fuming.

Placing my hand on his chest hesitantly, I pleaded for him to calm his pulsating nerves.
He nodded, then sat down normally again.

"Brutus, can you tell me more about... You know, werewolves?" I asked, shyness of mine surfacing again

With a dark grin, he started explaining
"Werewolves are the children of the moon. That is why Moon Goddess exists, she makes who people destined for each other."

"Mates." I finished off his thought, earning a satisfied smile from him

"Werewolves live in packs, of course. There are always an Alpha and a Luna, they are leading the whole entire pack. I am an Alpha, which makes you the Luna, my queen..." He said sweetly as he took my small hand and wrapped his big one around it.

Feeling blood rush to my cheeks, making my whole face pulsate with heat.

"But" he popped the 'b', making me jump up a slightest bit

"There are also rogues, wolves who don't have packs. They usually tend to get murdered by other wolves. Life of a werewolf is very much complicated." He admitted as he continued to admire my facial expression that was a mix of many different emotions.

My heart was still pumping wildly, something that ways happened when I was around him.
As I noticed that the moon slowly started to make an appearance on the twinkling clear sky, I questioned myself on how the time has passed so rapidly.

"Let's go inside." He said, lifting himself up to his feet and reaching his full height again.

As the light late spring breeze started to wrap itself around us, I got pulled by my waist and against Brutus' side as we entered the much warmer place...
