Ember Harper's POV:
Morning came quickly, me being awoken by the harsh wind this time. It was gracing against the walls of the house, buzzing through my ears with every thrust of air.
Lifting myself to my feet, I took a chance to look out of the wide window. Tall pine trees were slightly bending from all the force of the wind, not even birds flying in the air.
Even if i managed to escape today, it would most likely be a bad idea. I surely do not want to run in that weather.
Brutus was not in the room, which seemed to make it even bigger.
Feeling hunger kick to my stomach violently, I fought with myself for awhile before deciding to search for a kitchen.
Opening the massive doors of his bedroom, i found myself in a dark hallway with multiple staircases.
It instantly reminded me of one horror book that I was reading awhile ago.
Deciding to take the staircase that led downstairs, it instantly seemed like a great path since I heard two voices talking. Quiet voices rang in the wide walls, guiding me somehow.
Finally looking around the corner, I saw two figures sitting at long kitchen stools. They were still talking, looking like they did not want to be bothered.
A harsh look on Brutus' face told me everything.
So just when I was about to back up and walk back to the spacey room, my stomach erupted in a loud growl. Closing my eyes, I heard footsteps approaching me.
"Good morning." I heard a cheery voice. Opening my eyes slowly, I was now faced with a smiling Christian.
"Morning." I mumbled looking down at my bare feet. The cold feeling of tiles stung into my feet, making me shift from one leg to another.
"Come in, we have breakfast." He said, the word 'breakfast' making me snap my head up.
Following him to the spacey kitchen, I instantly noticed Brutus's stare on me. It was not harsh, but still seemed too intense.
"Good morning." I said, slightly louder this time.
With a smile, he returned the gesture.
"Oh, and no proper 'good morning' for Christian. I see how it is." I heard Christian mumble as he fiddled with bought bread, trying to open up the packet.
Looking at the table, I noticed various of plates placed across the counter. Not that I was a picky eater, but none of them seemed too appetising.
"And this is how it looks like when Christian attempts to cook." Brutus snickered, earning a hateful glare from his beta.
"I-I can try, if you want me too." I said, hesitation basically dripping off my voice.
Brutus got up, getting closer to me with a smile slapped on his lips.
"Please do, mi bella." He said in a pleading tone, both of us ignoring Christian's grumbling.
•
"Thank you for the breakfast." he said, getting up from his seat quickly.
