Brutus Lycian's POV:
Sitting in an uncomfortable chair of my study, I watched as the papers started to pile up more with every passing day.
With my impatience growing, I slapped down a fist onto my hardwood desk. Having a pack full of rebellious wolves was not quite amazing, especially now that I have my Luna by my side.
Looking over at Christian and Luca, my Gamma, I started to pick over my thoughts deeply.
"This can't be possible, there isn't any fucking chance that the territory files just slipped out of here." I brainstormed, rather aware of the fact that there was a spy present in my pack.
Christian and Luca shared a knowing glance before looking back at me with their eyes slightly narrowed.
They knew something.
"We think we know who it might be." Luca voiced deeply, making my wolf's ears perk up in alert.
"Who?" I demanded an answer, my nerves slowly starting to cripple down and raise my frustration.
"Bryce. We caught him sneaking out of your father's study yesterday. He said that he was just taking an order from your father."
"I want him and my parents here in less than an hour." I demanded and pushed the chair back, my mind now focusing on finding Ember.
She must be in the kitchen.
I crept my way down the stairs and walked into the space, my assumptions turning out to be true after all. She was lightly swaying to a beat that she was lightly humming, her bottom moving in subtle circles.
Oh God, this woman will be the death of me.
Slowly, I walked up behind her and grabbed her tiny hips in my hands. With a loud shriek of surprise, she jumped back and slapped her hand over her chest.
Eyeing me carefully, she questioned
"For how long have you been standing there?"
"Enough time for me to see certain things." Smirking, I watched as a deep rosy color blew wide in her cheeks. Her head now hung low as she turned around again, continuing to stir something that she made in a big pot.
Snaking my arms around her waist and putting my head onto her shoulder, I let my lips press themselves beneath her ear.
Tingles now decorated the skin of my lips, yearning for more of her skin.
"Don't be shy, mi bella. For all I care you can jump around a pile of mud, you'd still as beautiful to me." I whispered against her ear, making her press against me even more and smile.
Oh, she was so innocent. The thought we were having a happy moment, which we were, but she had no idea what she did to me down there.
Our moment was interrupted once my parents entered the room rather loudly and once my mother let out a while of adoration.
Turning around, I saw that she was looking at us with a big smile on her face. But I also noticed that my father was still stiff, his brain focused on the thing that was really important at this moment.
"Oh you have no idea how happy you just made me." My mother butted in once again as she gathered both me and my mate into her hug.
With a shy smile, Ember hugged back my mother while I tried hardly to escape her deathly grasp.
