I'll Protect You, I Promise!

Chapter 18

Back at the station, the team is still trying to figure out the Unsub, mostly the Unsub's name. The BAU team keeps fishing for different scenarios that the Unsub could have possibly gone through. After many hours of creating a possible list, Emily dialed the phone for Garcia.

"The Mighty Garcia has been summoned. How may she help you?" Garcia sang out loud.

Emily quickly smiled and looked towards the list, "Garcia we need a list of men with the profile destruction that was in an abusive family."

With speedy fingers from Garcia the results popped up, "Wow, okay, that's a lot of people. We have over 1,000 men that were in abusive families."

Emily looked back at the list, "Look for men that might have been admitted into a hospital multiple times with abusive related injuries."

The mighty tech girl typed in more information into her computer, "Now we have about 500 men admitted into a hospital for abusive type injuries."

"Have any of the possible Unsubs gotten arrested for domestic violence," Emily asked with confusion plastered on her face.

"Uh, we have the same 500 men," Garcia said shaking her head.

Emily scanned the list for another option, "Ok Garcia, what about men that played the damsel in distress that had an abusive father and possibly a sister or mother that was the first abused victim."

Again with speedy fingers, Garcia added the huge list of possible scenarios, "Okay we have two men. Josh Bradley a Los Angeles resident that had an abusive father that originally beat his mother until he took a stand against his father and became the new punching bag."

Emily wrote down the name on a piece of paper, "Okay and what about the second name?"

Garcia pulled up the next name, "Blake Warner, another Los Angeles resident that has the same backstory as Mr. Bradley but with a slight twist."

Emily showed confusion, "How so?"

The information popped up on Garcia's screen, "Abusive father, beat the entire family, mother, sister, and him. After Warner had enough of his father beating the mother and sister he started to become more violent towards his father so that resulted in more injuries inflicted on Warner than the mother and sister."

While Garcia was reading the information about the second possible Unsub, Reid walked in and listened to the newly given information.

Reid injected himself into the conversation, "Garcia how old was Blake and his sister?"

With more clicks being sounded the information popped up, "Warner was 12 years old and his sister was 5 years old."

Reid looked at Emily with soft eyes, "That explains why the Unsub is so careful with the kids, it's because he protected his own sister."

Garcia gasped loudly that caught the attention of both profilers, "What is it, Garcia."

She composed herself before speaking, " Warner's mother was pregnant with another child but lost it due to the abuse, and get this... it was gonna be another boy."

Reid looked at the board with all the past victims, maps, and information plastered on it, "That's why he's sparing the kids. The Unsub must've thought that both families were secretly abusing their children."

Emily nods at the genius's train of thought, then after coming to a quick realization Reid looked at Emily again with soft eyes that no one has ever seen, "I think I know who the Unsub is going after next."
