Chapter 15: A Long Day

Monika:"That makes 7 in here a lot ran from other rooms to get here"
She said

Emmanuel:"I found the hostage in the walk in closet guys"
She said grabbing the hostage and heading towards the window

Y/N:"Then that means there is 3 left"
You said confused as Monika recounted the bodies.

Monika:"There is 7 here and you killed 3 then where the he-"

Y/N:"MONIKA!!"
You instantly pulled out your sidearm and shot the last white mask emptying the whole clip into him clicking the gun a few times after

Emmanuel:"Y-Y/N..."
She was on the verge of tears as she looked over Monika who laid there nearly lifeless

You walked over to her and kneeled down taking her into your arms
Tears began to form in your eyes as she slowly opened hers and looked at you

Monika:"Y-Y/N I-"
She was interrupted by you putting a finger over her mouth

Y/N:"Shh...Save your strength...I don't want to lose you Monika..."
You looked at her as she gave you a small smile and wrapped her arms around you the best she could

Emmanuel:"I called the chopper to come get us...I'll get the hostage and we can take her to doc back at the base..."
She was tearing up as well but tried to hold them back

You nodded to her and stood up holding Monika bridal style as you watched Emmanuel escort the hostage from the closet and out the backdoor of the house.
You followed and the chopper soon arrived at the drop zone. When you all got on the pilot looked back at you all and saw Monika. He instantly nodded and began flying back to the base.

Timeskip

Location: Base Infirmary Room

You watched as Monika laid in the bed with her eyes closed resting.
Your hand was entangled with hers as you have been there since the return from your last mission.

Y/N:"Please be okay Monika...I can't lose you...You mean so much to me"
You began to tear up again as memories from your time with Monika started to fade into your head.

After a while Doc and Rook came into the room and nodded to you

Doc:"Good news Y/N she will be fine...We were able to remove the bullet from her shoulder and it missed the vital parts which is a good sign...The proper actions has been taken and after a few days Monika will be back in action so just...Take it easy okay the last thing we need is you blaming yourself for this..."
He placed a hand on your shoulder and gave you a reassuring look

He left the room leaving Rook there

Rook:"You did well Y/N...Before you know it she'll be back out there with you on the field in no time...Monika is the toughest girl I know for a reason"
He chuckled a bit as he said this and nodded to you.
Rook left the room and closed the door behind him.

Emmanuel was asleep in the chair next to you leaning on your shoulder as her arms were wrapped around your free one.
Her light snores were very cute and her nose would twitch every so often making her even cuter than before.
You smiled as you saw this and looked back to Monika. After a few moments you gave her a kiss on the forehead and picked Emmanuel up to take her back to the room.
She hugged you and snuggled into your chest as you held her. You opened the door and gave Monika one last look before smiling

Y/N:"I love you Monika..."
You closed the door as you walked out and headed towards your shared room.

Emmanuel:"...Marry...Me...Y-Y/N"
She mumbled as her grip around you tightened

You smiled and after awhile you arrived at the door to the room.
You used your foot to open the door and did the same to close it behind you. After walking over to the bed you laid Emmanuel down and she instantly wrapped her arms around a pillow assuming it was you.
You picked up the remote and turned the tv on and took your shoes off and did the same for Monika.

Y/N:"This was a...Long day..."
You laid down in the bed and got under the covers looking at the tv as you did so.

After a few moments you felt Emmanuel's arm wrap around you and it made you jump a bit but you smiled and continued to watch tv

Emmanuel:"She'll be okay Y/N...Monika is strong and she won't die if we're not going with her..."
She was half asleep as she said this hugging herself closer into your back.

Y/N:"Thanks Emmanuel"
You turned around and hugged her closer to you.

She instantly accepted the hug and snuggled into your chest once more letting out a sigh of relief.
You both soon fell asleep in each other's arms.
