Grow Up

Growing up is like a monster,

That we all have to face,

Such a monster that it eventually shatters us,

Without leaving a trace.

That monster encounters,

Every person on Earth,

And we all dread the meeting,

From the day of our birth.

"Is growing up really necessary?",

Asks  the thirteen-year-old,

"You can't help it, can you?",

Is what she is told.

Isn't it really horrifying,

The mere thought of growing up,

When every moment, you invite death,

Being so stressed and fed-up.

And the society, the people surrounding you,

Have such narrow-minded thinking,

Who will try to mould you into demons like themselves,

And your hope will go down, sinking.

Those horrible people will look at you,

With a look full of anger, but at the same time pity,

And will repeat one phrase over and over again,

'GROW UP ALREADY!'.
