Isn't social media a great thing?
It lets you connect with people,
Isn't it's motive beneficial,
Or wait, perhaps it's evil.
You always double-click your close ones' pictures,
But one thing you've surely missed,
You never question yourself,
Does your bond of love in real life, even exists?
The idea with which social media was created,
Was to bring people closer,
But actually, it does the opposite,
It breaks bonds over and over.
All we ever learnt was to pull each other down,
"My picture is better than her's",
It never really brought us closer,
Just further and our behaviour made worse.
Maybe it's not social media's fault,
It's ours, the addiction resulted in this,
It's us that caused the misery, the hell,
It's motive essentially was bliss.
After all, what did you gain by clicking all the photos,
Was it fame or perhaps, respect?
No, maybe it's time to live the perfect moments,
Maybe it's time to disconnect to connect.
