me and yoongi were invited to my best friend taehyung's party.
the invites were set out late; knowing taehyung, he probably forgot to even send them once he had finished planning.
it was a tuesday evening- both me and yoongi had the week off and so we decided to go.
the first thing that hit me once i stepped through taehyung's door was how the entire place smelt of alcohol. sweaty men and women were bouncing along to the beat emitting from the enormous speakers my best friend had set up around the house.
i felt yoongi squeeze my hand. i turned to look at him. his eyes were pleading to me, 'don't leave me anywhere, please.'
and i smiled at this. i squeezed his hand back tightly and mumbled. "i won't leave you, if you don't leave me."
and so we set off.
it had been months since i last saw any of the people inside the cramped, booming house. people were shouting above the music-
"jimin?! that you?! haven't seen you in forever!"
"you look great, man!"
"loving the hair!"i was smiling like crazy once i had lead yoongi down towards taehyung.
the brunette greeted us with slightly sloppy kisses on our cheeks- clearly drunk. and as the night went on, yoongi opened up towards some of my friends. all i wanted to do was watch; watch my beautiful boyfriend feeling such genuine happiness.
he caught my eye from afar, seeing me sip on my drink and wiggling his eyebrows stupidly, making me laugh. i remember thinking that night; was this happiness? is this what true joy feels like?
i would miss it. i would miss it so much.
"heeeeeey, little birdie!" i held onto a drunken yoongi, walking down the sidewalk at 2 am. i had insisted we leave before it gets too much, and currently, the boy was making it difficult for me to concentrate on the way back.
but it's so hard to get annoyed at someone you adore.
and so i giggled with him; even though i was in a completely fine state of mind, i laughed along. i felt his warmth lean against me as i unlocked my front door. "i love you, jiminnie."
i smiled, shaking my head disapprovingly. "my, my. look what a couple of drinks have done to my poor yoongi-baby." i locked the door after we both entered and watched yoongi slip off his shoes, slightly out of balance.
"i really do love you too though, yoongi."
i watched my angels face light up happily.
i was going to miss his tiny little gummy smile.
another mistake was for suggesting he moves in the next day.
his mistake was agreeing.
