Light glows warm from the candle on the desk

The night sky glows with millions of stars

The entire world seems to be at rest

If you look closely, you just might see Mars

The fireplace is crackling as well

The sound of which brings peace into the home

The warmth of which makes the man want to tell

Of the days when he was not alone

She was a gorgeous woman, yes indeed

Not just in her looks, but in her mind too

Their love grew fiercely, like a sprouting seed

And ev'ry day for them brought something new

Looking back brings a tear into his eye

For their last talk he never said good-bye
