Laura's POV
I paced frantically back and forth across our creaky upstairs hallway.
I'm pregnant. I'm actually freaking pregnant!
I'd left Ross what felt like a million different voicemails, each one making me sound even more deranged and hyper than the last.
Of course Ross had gone away to New York whilst the news of my pregnancy surfaced — it was a typical Ross move.
I was stuck consumed with my own thoughts and the sound of Vanessa's screams as she pulled out the stray hairs from her already perfectly shaped eyebrows with a pair of tweezers she'd found underneath my bed.
"Laura sit down your causing such a — ow!" Vanessa yelled out again.
I poked my head around my bedroom door, my positive pregnancy test still glued to my hand like it permanently belonged there. "Stop being such a baby!" I exclaimed with my arms folded across my chest. "You've been screaming in agony over those stupid little stray eyebrow hairs for the last hour. You're driving me insane!"
Vanessa stopped tugging at one of the hairs and chucked the tweezers to the side, rolling her dark brown eyes at me in frustration. "Oh crap, here come the hormones!"
"Oh very funny." I mocked, poking my tongue out at her.
Vanessa popped a piece of chocolate into her mouth and frowned at me. "Did I tell you that Bella didn't want to go into school this morning?"
I stared at her and shook my head. "No. Did she go through the gates? You better not have driven off and left her there!"
Vanessa rolled her eyes. "Oh yeah, like I'm going to leave my twelve year old niece by the school gate — hell no! I watched her walk all the way up the hill until she was out of sight."
I let out a grateful sigh. "Thank god -"
"She was walking with some boy though." She added, popping another piece of chocolate into her mouth. "He was checking her out and I was watching like a hawk from my car, ready to swoop in on my prey at any given second -"
I placed my hand on my hip. "And did you?"
Vanessa laughed and shook her head in disbelief at what I'd asked her. "Of course not! They'd have security dragging me out of there real quick!"
"I trust her." I firmly stated, leaning against the doorframe to mine and Ross' bedroom. Vanessa's eyes widened and a slow grin spread across her face. "What?" I snapped.
"He likes her, I can tell." She explained with a wink.
I laughed nervously. "Ness, they're kids. I doubt they even know what the word crush means or what it's like to love someone."
Vanessa began to snigger at me. She pointed her finger in my direction and grinned. "Well you clearly did! You were only four years older than Isabella is right now when you fell pregnant with her. She's not dumb, Laura."
I defensively folded my arms across my chest once again. "What's that supposed to mean?"
"Laur, please... they're educating kids about the bird's and the bee's from the age of eleven these days." Vanessa explained, throwing her dark waves of hair over her shoulder. "She's a smart girl. She won't get herself into any kind of trouble. Besides, she's twelve, I doubt she's even thinking of having relationships with people."
I glared at my older sister. "They teach them about the bird's and the freaking bee's at the age of eleven?" Vanessa nodded and shrugged. "That's insane!"
