I was reading some comments from the beginning of the story. Whew y'all hated Layla for real. That's my girl, she's me x10. Please be patient with me as the story continues to develop.

Chapter 42
Rell's eyes shot open as he jumped awake. He felt himself drenched in sweat completely. His heart was racing as he tried to bring himself back to reality.
Layla held onto him wiping his face. "It's okay baby," she cooed. "Just breathe."
This was the fourth time this was happening for the night. It had been a few days since he returned home to them and every time he fell asleep, he was abruptly awoken from nightmares.
Rell held onto her tightly as she coached him into taking deep breaths. "Cmon let's take a shower."
They both got out of bed slowly and Layla wrapped her arms around his waist for support. She helped him out his clothes then herself.
Once in the shower, the cold water cascaded both their bodies cooling them off. "You okay," she asked.
Rell nodded but remained silent. She knew it would be a while before he would actually used his voice. In the meantime she lathered up and cleaned the both of them.
Before getting back in bed, Layla quickly changed the sheets due to them being wet. "Wanna watch some netflix?"
Rell got into bed with her but shook his head. He laid his head on her stomach hugging her.
Layla began caressing his face until they both fell asleep.
——————————————Layla and Maddison laid in bed watching a new show on Netflix. Rell was still asleep on her so Maddison was on the next side.
"Dadda no up yet," Maddison asked.
"No baby," she replied. "He's tired."
She nodded and went back to watching tv. Luckily, James had already fed her because Rell hadn't let Layla go since he feel asleep.
