Eliza's P.O.V.
The second cabinet battle game and went. Of course, as I had anticipated, Alexander lost. You may be wondering, how could a kind heart cinnamon roll not root for my best friend's husband? It's because she'd rather be divorced than married to the man. The poor thing has visited me five times this week, complaining and crying about how he won't concentrate on his family and she can't cooperate with him without getting him extremely angry.
What did he need? Family and sleep.
What he lacked? Family and sleep.
What did he refuse to take a break for? Family and sleep.
Come to think of it, Y/n hasn't been acting like her normal self. Which is understandable. But with Philip's ninth birthday nearing, she continues to talk to him about how not everyone can be happy and duels are a terrible idea.
"What do we say, Pip?"
"No duels, more rules."
"What are the rules?"
"I don't go around asking people to duel me if they insult my father."
"Good!"

My delicate, petite hands trace the hardcover of the book held in my hands. I hear Y/n begging Alexander to leave his office and come to celebrate Philip's ninth birthday with us.
I hear my heart begin to pound in my ear, a sorrowful expression making its way to my face.
I glance at John who stares in worry at the abyss. I gently placed a hand upon his, instantly stealing his attention.
John simply smiles warmly, kisses my rosy cheek, stands, and guides us to the living room.
"Writing a letter to Angelica?" She said, "If you have time to write to a person across the sea, you have time to come hear your son! GET UP!"
Seems Y/n got him to take a small break.
On the table is where my little Angelica had decided to sit, baby Skye held protectively in her hands, Pip reciting his poem.
"He's been practicing all day!" Her hand was entertained with his. Alexander seemed annoyed.
How could he?
Feel annoyed!?
It's his son's birthday!
He'd rather work? Ugh!
"Philip, take it away!" Y/n motions to Philip, quickly beginning to beatbox, earning a warm-hearted smile from John.
"My name Philip, I am a poet!" He starts with confidence, "I wrote this poem just to show it! And I just turned nine, you can write rhymes, but you can't write mine!"
"WHAT!?" Alexander finally acts like the good father I know he can be.
"I practice French and play piano with my mother!"
"Uh-huh!"
"I have a sister, but I want a little brother!"
"Okay!" Alexander glances flirtatiously at Y/n who blushes slightly. We laugh.
"My daddy's tryin' to start America's bank!" He proceeds to count in French, Alexander engulfing him in a hug.
"Bravo!" I clap.
"Good job, Pip, I'm proud of you!" Angelica cheers, trying to keep a smiling Skye in her hands.
"Pip, that was amazing!" John runs to him and ruffles his curly brown hair. He smiles up at his supposed uncle, stars burning into his eyes.
Only then did I notice... the resemblance those two bare...
Y/n slowly walks to them, placing a gentle hand on John's shoulder and side hugging Philip.
"I love you!" Pip chirps.
They looked like a family...
What's going on?
No...
What had gone on nine years ago?
Only then do I realize...
Philip's father isn't Alexander.
His father is my husband.
Alexander P.O.V.
What is happening to me?
Something I can't understand, that's for sure.
Alexander Hamilton... the Alexander Hamilton doesn't understand what's happening...
I've been having dreams of... Eliza Laurens.
I can't take my eyes off her...
I have to admit, her smile bares such beauty.
It's like when I married Y/n, a piece of myself was left with Eliza. How is this possible? we never had any romantic relationship, I'd consider us friends.
This isn't right...
Eliza and John will be leaving for vacation upstate to visit Mr. Schuyler. They had invited us but Y/n insisted she'd stay, Philip had declared he wanted to ride the boat upstate, and I, of course, have to get my plan through Congress.
I can't stop until I get this plan through Congress.
Y/n's P.O.V.
A month has passed and Philip has finally returned! I engulf my son in a hug, showering him in kisses, and thanking Eliza and John for caring for my smol bean.Because of my presence, Maria Reynolds couldn't visit my husband. Therefore, my marriage is saved and I don't have to worry about Alexander not keeping it in his pants!
One month left of summer, I decided to visit my father in Virginia, maybe stop by Thomas as well? Eliza can't go, she isn't feeling well. She insisted John leave with Angelica, Philip, and I because she could care for herself and she'd rather be alone. It helps her headache.
I saw right through that.
She was faking it but John believed every word she uttered.
I shrug it off.
There's not a way Alexander could cheat if it isn't the first month of summer. That's when she visited him; a week after Eliza left. She wouldn't come to him now, that's not how it works.
Hopefully...
Come to think of it, Eliza and Alex have grown close.
She usually bashed on him for being such a terrible husband, but now... she won't stop talking about how lucky I am to have him.
Should I be worried?
I just hope... everything will be okay while we're gone...
