Y/n's P.O.V.
"A-Alexander?"
"Y/n? Is something wrong?"
"Can we go home soon? I feel ill..."
"Anything for you, my love."
Many months later...
I look up at the sunset thoughtfully, Alexander and me walking through the quiet streets, hand in hand. I feel him tugging mine slightly and shift my attention to him.
"It's beautiful, is it not?" His eyes are so beautiful. They're like a maze, so easy to get lost in.
I smile and nod, turning away from him and back at the gorgeous view of the blanket of snow covering the mountains, the sun dipping below them and casting colors into the sky.
Philip would have loved it here...
"What's wrong?" Alexander asks. I don't respond though. "Y-Y/n?"
"Yes?" I manage to squeak.
"What's wrong? You're worrying me..." I look into my husband's puzzled eyes.
I sigh and look ahead again, "Like I had said, love, nothing to concern yourself over." I knew he could see right through my lie but he played it off anyway.
"In this heated campaign, who are you supporting?"
My eyes grow wide.
Thomas Jefferson and James Madison are still going at it with Aaron Burr...
Shit!
"W-why should my political opinion matter? I'm just a woman anyway, heh..." I chuckle nervously.
An amused expression makes its way to Alex's face, "Is that so? What happened to the woman who didn't shut up for anyone? Who argued even with the highest of statuses?"
"Alexander, stop..." I whine.
"So? Jefferson or Burr?"
"I don't know..."
"If you had to choose?"
Don't choose Jefferson, he'll end up choosing him and Burr will duel him.
But if I choose Burr, he may win the election, Jefferson would probably challenge my husband to a duel and the Nation's history would be thrown into disarray!
GOD, WHY ME!?
What would you do, Skye?
"Burr is quiet and understanding and loving, he would make an amazing president. He will listen to all the ideas of his cabinet and whatnot. Like my father once had. But Jefferson is very upbeat and fun and out there. He's also very bold and confident, unafraid to speak his opinion. I don't know..."
"In my opinion, Jefferson would make a better president. As you had said, Burr is quiet. He wouldn't be able to make his own choices. He's too kind and peaceful. If a war is ever to come, he'll try to sign a peace treaty. It will make us look weak!"
"Don't say that Burr is an amazing man."
"But Jefferson, though I disagree with his beliefs, speaks his mind and is bold. He doesn't hold back and he's strong-willed. But do I really want a man with a large crush on my wife to be elected president?"
There was a silent pause. I interrupt it by laughing.
"Alexander Hamilton!"
"Y/n Hamilton!" He mimics, making me laugh harder.
