Part 2 (2 of 2)

Mayura frowned when she heard the story of the website from Izumiko. They were standing in the doorway to Class A.

“This is really suspicious. What kind of fortune telling site is he running? He can’t be up to anything good with it.”

The whole situation was unsettling. It was unusual for Mayura to frown so much.

Before Izumiko realized, Mayura had disappeared back into the classroom. When she returned a moment later, Miyuki was with her.

Mayura threw questions at him.

“What does it mean that Takayanagi knows the second year girls? Do you think Kisaragi knows anything about Takayanagi’s site?”

“Probably not. If she did, they would have mentioned it while we were in in the student government room.”

Miyuki couldn’t hide his surprise at hearing about the website either.

“Huh. So he’s using this sort of thing… If that’s the case, he’ll already have supporters in the upper grades.”

“Isn’t one of the upperclassmen boys in the student government a computer expert?”

“It’s only spreading by word of mouth. Fortune telling is usually something girls are into. He probably hasn’t heard about it yet,” Miyuki said.

Mayura crossed her arms.

“Are you saying that he doesn’t talk to girls? Do you think he’s a loser or something?”

“All I’m saying is that some people have things they’re not good at.”

Izumiko cautiously handed the paper to Mayura.

“I didn’t mention I couldn’t use computers so Sagawa gave me the password. It was mean of me to trick her like that…”

“You did a good job, Izumiko. Thanks for getting such important information for me. If it was just us, we wouldn’t have heard until it was too late to do anything.”

Mayura looked down at the paper covered with letters and numbers. Then she looked back up again and said, “I’ll try checking out the site. I have to see what sort of things are on it. If it’s already this widespread, he must be using magic to make people invite others to use the site. Using magic on the internet is a new trick but I think I can figure it out more or less if I get a look at what he’s doing. I’m really worried about this so let’s go to the computer room right now.”

If they went all the way to the computer room on the second floor, they would certainly be late for their next class. Still, Izumiko nodded. She knew they had to look into this as soon as possible.

Miyuki stopped them as they set off on their mission.

“Wait. If you’re looking for a computer you can use on your own, there are some in the student government room too. They’re closer and no one will interrupt you there.”

“Is that okay?”

“I wouldn’t say what you’re doing is personal use. And I want to see what Takayanagi’s site is about too.”

Miyuki followed them up to the student government room. Luckily, no one was there. This cut out the time it would have taken to explain what they wanted to do and they immediately went to the nearest computer and pulled the cover off of it.

When Mayura entered the URL off of the paper, a popup requesting a password appeared. A Japanese themed page opened after they typed it in. The title read “Bridge of Revival”. Below that was an “Enter” button. The visitor counter on the bottom read in the 6000’s. If the website had only been shared with students at the academy, that meant that people must have been coming back over and over again.
