Chapter 4: Wamiya
Part 2 (1 of 2)

Miyuki held his bag, gazing at the students surrounding him.

Youhei, Tomoya, and two other boys had been waiting behind the gym building. As soon as he had come into view, they had cut off all means of escape. Kazuto Seya, who had been walking with Miyuki up until this point, stepped away and joined the circle.

"What are you doing?" Miyuki asked dryly. "This is completely out of nowhere."

"It's not out of nowhere. We've been putting up with you since you came," Youhei retorted. "And we've had it with you since the trip. Everything about you is a load of crap."

Miyuki shrugged. "I've been meaning to work on that. What have I done to piss you off? Is it because all the girls like me?"

"Everyone says your ego's huge," A vein pulsed on Youhei's temple and Miyuki frowned. It wasn't hard to read the other boy's mood.

"Thanks. It's something I've suspected lately. But you didn't let me know until now."

"Don't talk to me like that!"

"Do you really think you're going to settle this with a fight?" Miyuki's tone was even.

"Already sick of me making an idiot out of you? They should throw people like you out of this school. That's what Wamiya says,"

"Who's Wamiya?" Miyuki asked suspiciously, but Youhei wasn't listening. He was already rushing towards Miyuki with the intent of starting a fight.

Immediately, Miyuki held up his bag, successfully blocking the other boy's fist. He spoke again.

"I really can't stand settling problems with fists."

"Shut up."

He threw a high kick at Miyuki. Then he aimed a punch at his face.

Miyuki threw his bag away.

"Fine. As long as you're the one who threw the first punch. There are witnesses to back me up."

Once he made this declaration, Miyuki threw himself into the fight with far more enthusiasm than anyone could have expected. He didn't seem to care how many people he was going up against either. His eyes were only on Youhei. With no way to break into the fight, Youhei's backup were forced to stand back and watch. No one had realized Youhei had actually planned to start a fight anyway.

The fight quickly became a scuffle when Youhei and Miyuki wrestled each other onto the ground. They made little sound as they struggled, but it didn't take long for their uniforms to become covered in dirt. Finally, Miyuki pinned Youhei to the ground.

His hand tightened around the scruff of his opponent's neck, his breathing fast as he waited for Youhei to surrender.

"Did that guy named Wamiya put you up to this? Where is he?"

Youhei did not respond, but that could have been because Miyuki had punched him hard in the side and the boy had rolled over in pain only a moment before the question had been asked. Still, Miyuki didn't think he had put enough force into the punch to break any of his ribs. When Miyuki finally looked up at the others, Kazuto was staring down at him, his eyes dazed and expressionless, his breathing uneven.
