"Liv you gotta wake up, Your alarm went off awhile ago We gotta leave soon"
I wake up to Chase telling me... I look up groggily at him and then grab my phone to check the time. "Shit" I say and jump out of bed and push Chase out of my room
"What the fuck Liv" He says while I yell at him
"I gotta get dressed. Make sure you're ready to go we gotta leave in 10 mins" I Jump into my Closet and quickly pick out an outfit and throw my hair up, quickly go brush my teeth and walk out to see Chase coming out of the spare bedroom in my apartment
"Let's go Ace" I say and grab my bag and keys
"What about Breakfast, I'm a growing boy I need food" He shouts at me while I push him out of the door. "Well Ace our dumb asses overslept, so no food for you" I say although I do fully intend to stop and get some coffee and breakfast I lock up and we get to our car and take off.
"We were supposed to get there in 15 minutes Ace, We're still an hour and a half away" I Sternly saying pissed of at myself "Well Ollie It's not my Fault you didn't wake up to your alarm"
"Oh So you're gonna blame me? Why weren't you up on time??? Was it because maybe, Hmmm you slept through your alarm too?" I say driving into the Starbucks drive through. He looks sheepishly at me while going "Pshhhhh no" I roll my eyes and ask him what he wants and we order, we get our food and continue the drive Calling my mom telling her we'll be late
We pull up in front of my Mothers house, Chase jumps out and runs to the door and I closely follow behind him. He gets inside and I Hear a "Ohhhhh Food smells sooo good Mom" I laugh internally I Walk inside and My mother sees me and immediately embraces me. I Smile into her Until I hear A loud "OLIVIA" I Let go of my mother and see a Mak jumping into my arms
"MAK" I scream back just to amuse her. We all walk into the kitchen following behind my mother.
"I'm sorry we were late mama We overslept"
"It's fine food wasn't done yet anyway. I'm just glad you guys were safe and got here alright" She responds handing me some dishes to go set the table with. We finished setting the table and We were about to sit down and start eating until we heard the door open
"Were we expecting someone else" I say confused. My mother shakes her head also clueless as to who was at the door. I get up and see someone who I wasn't excepting too. I Scream and immediately jump into her arms.
"Who On earth is it" I Can hear my mother say walking in and seeing who's arms I was in.
"What are you doing here?" my mom and I say at the same time with Mak and chase slowly behind on what the commotion is.
"I heard from a little birdy that You were cooking your Sunday brunch and Well I couldn't miss it could I?" My Mom embraces her followed by my two other siblings After all of our greetings Mak goes and Gets another Plate and set of silverware. We all sit down and start eating
"All four of my kiddos here together for the first time in what feels like forever.
Only missing Daddy" My mom says teary eyed everyone stays silent not knowing what to say until Mak speaks up
"I'm just glad Maddie decided to accept my invite"
"You knew about this??? And you didn't tell us" I ask
"Well It wouldn't be a surprise if We told you" Maddie says "Well anyway i'm glad we're all together again" My Mom says
You see Maddie moved back to the US for College when she was 18 about two years after Dad died. She was just dealing with His death differently then everybody else and didn't want to be reminded of him constantly. And after she Graduated she got a Job and decided to Stay there.
"How was your Trip to London Ace? What'd you do? Hope you didn't Bother Liv too much" Mom speaks up "It was good, I just went out with some friends. I Don't think i did, we just watched movies and had food the first night and The second we were both out all night so" He says
"Well whats going on with you Ollie? I feel like you're always busy whenever I call" Maddie says
"Yea I've just been buried with work and School" I respond feeling bad knowing I could've done more to keep in touch with her. We were the closest growing up since the other two were younger than us. When dad died she left and I was mad at her really mad. I mean that's when I needed her the most.
"She is also busy with her new Boyfriend" Chase laughs and I shoot daggers at him
"She has a Boyfriend??? Oh Now i'm really mad you didn't pick up those calls to tell me about him" Maddie speaks and Mak adds to that "Yea, Why didn't you tell us about him?" and Mom agrees
"I Definitely Don't have a Boyfriend" I speak up
"Then who were you out with till 3 In the morning with?" He says and I kick him underneath the table. "What's his name?" Mak asks
"He doesn't have a name because there isn't a He to be spoken of" I say huffing
"Harry, His name is Harry" says the biggest asshole I've met
"Harry, That's a nice proper name" Maddie says
"Harry" My mom repeats "That's the name of a Prince, quite literally" She laughs thinking she's the funniest person ever
"Stop I am not dating anyone. I am 22 I'm allowed to have friends and I am allowed to go out at night." I say annoyed
"Well Maddie how is Derrick?" Mom says changing the subject I gratefully smile at her
Derrick has been her Boyfriend since her first year of Collage
We thankfully finish Dinner without My night out being brought up again
I Go and help Mom clean up dinner While the other 3 Rascals go and fight over who's gonna win in Mario Kart
"So Harry?" My Mom asks while putting the food away
"Just a friend" I respond washing dishes
"Okay... Well Just know You can tell me if anything does happen. You can talk to me it won't leave my mouth."
"I Promise if anything happens I will tell you when I'm ready. But mom I doubt anythings going to happen. There's certain circumstances that will make it so it won't work" I Sigh and she looks at me and give a soft smile and pulls me in for a hug and just holds me.
"I missed you Mama" I smile into her arms
"I missed you too Liv. Let's go join the rest of them"
We spent the rest of the day playing Mario Kart and charades as a family laughing genuinely enjoying our time together as we haven't been all together for a long long time
But Finally we were Whole and knowing Dad was here in Spirit made us all the Happier
