Chapter Thirty Five

Today was the day... It was Friday and I was very very nervous

My mom was going to meet Harry today, Harry was going to meet my mom today.

I wake up and gather the strength to get out of bed, I go and walk into my tiny closet that was full of too many clothes.

The weather was now turning hotter the closer we get to summer. Though It didn't exactly get as hot here as it did in most parts of America it was still warm enough for cute clothes.... I threw on a pink skirt and a random white tank.

Harry was going to be picking me up from my apartment. When I got the text he arrived I headed downstairs and noticed he was in the drivers seat.

"Where Is rick?" I asked him and he smiled "Well, I thought today was somewhat special and the only place we're going is your moms house. So Rick decided I could drive and be on my own. So he is having the day off with his family"

"So I have you all to myself!" I exclaimed and he laughed and focused on the road

"Do you like driving?" I asked him and he paused to think about it "I do like driving.. It's somewhat freeing since I grew up in a place where I was surrounded by people, being watched every second of the day. I guess when they finally let me start driving it was a way to escape."

I nodded trying to understand his situation growing up. I know I'll never understand fully but I'll always try, that I promise

"Though there's always a part of me who's on edge when driving, because of what other people did to my Mum" I frown. I had forgotten for a second that's how his mother passed but felt badly for him as soon as he spoke

We talk the rest of the drive until we arrive. I sigh and he looks at me "You okay?" He asked and I exhaled a big deep breath "Ready as I'll ever be," I say He chuckled at me

"I think you're more nervous then I am,"

"I'm not even that nervous. I know she'll like you, and I hope you like her. But I just get really bad anxiety over these things," I say as I stepped out of the car

He stepped out too and walked over to me and embraced me into a hug. I buried my head into his chest and then I looked up at him and he smiled at me. I reach up and went to kiss him but quickly remembered anyone could be watching.

"Ready?" I asked him and he nodded and smiled. We took each others hands and walked up to the door, I made the choice to knock instead of just walking in. We Didn't want to startle her

I did the honor or knocking with my free hand, the one that wasn't intertwined with his. My mother only opened the door about 30 seconds later.

"Hello!" She said very happily "Well Hi," I say

"Hello Mrs.Hampton, Thank you for having me" He said as he let go of my hand and went and kissed both of her cheeks and in true Harry fashion he had brought something with him for her. He had asked me what was her favorite type of alcohol. And the answer was tequila.

So tequila he had for her.

"This is for you," He said to her handing her the bottle. "Thank you! You didn't have to!" She said to him

"I wanted to!" He said

"I'm Annalise!" My mother said to him while she stepped aside for him and I to walk in. "Harry! Nice to finally meet you," He said. My mother had already quizzed me on how she should greet him. Did she curtsy? Call him 'His Royal Highness' There was a lot to consider when meeting a prince

"Lovely home you've got," He said to her

I couldn't even tell you how fast my heart was beating right now. Honestly I feel like my mom should be more nervous then I am, but she isn't showing any signs of nerves.

"Food should be ready in 20 minuets?" We nodded "I am making some sausage rolls," Harry smiled "That sounds delicious!"

"Ollie said you liked them. So it was a safe bet"

"I love them, that's amazing. Thank you" He said and I melted listening to him talk to my mother in his perfect British accent

She guided us into the living room where we then sat on the couch "Can I offer you a drink?" She asked us "Water, Please." Harry said and I seconded that.

She then left us alone for a few minuets to go and get our drinks. Harry looked at me lovingly almost "What?!?" I exclaim and he shrugs

"I'm just happy to be here with you," I sigh "Stop being cute..." I say and kiss him lightly and quickly before my mom walked back into the room

We talk small talk before we get up and move into the dining room to eat the food as it was now ready. I could see it on my moms face her 'I can't believe I'm sitting here with the prince of England... Who just so happens to be dating my Daughter.' Yea when I say that in my head it doesn't sound real either

"How did you two meet?" My mother asked. Of course she had already asked me but once again she was starting conversation between us. She asked me before today 'What do I say to him? I can't ask about his family, or his job as he literally worked for the country... On a much higher salary then most people too

I looked at Harry for him to answer "We met briefly at the Hospital.. I was on a visit there and Liv was working with a little girl, and then I saw how great she was with her so I invited her to the charity football game. We talked some more and seemed to hit it off"

"Seemed?" I laughed

"Okay, we did hit it off" I nodded "Thats more like it," I say quietly as my mother laughed at us two. "I turned him down,"

He shook his head "Are you just gonna hold that over me now aren't you?" He asked and I nodded and smiled bigly "Of course!"

"You've already Won Wills over with that story! And My dad and you haven't even met him yet" He says defeated

"Well I am just saying you had to work for this" I say motioning towards myself "I guess It was worth it." He shrugged and Started fixing himself his plate after my mother finished hers

"You GUESS?" I exclaimed as he smirked at me "You check off some of the right boxes" I shook my head taking the Potatoes from him. My mother just watched us two banter with a big smile on her face

I nudged Harrys foot with mine and he slyly looks up grinning at me and raises his eyebrow and I shrugged and he shook his head at me while grinning

Suddenly My moms phone starts to ring "I'm so sorry," She said but then saw it was Maddie "Let me answer this," We nodded and I looked over at and blew him a kiss, he pretended to catch it

"MOM! I have, we have something to tell you"

"Okay! Olivia is here!" She said and I popped into the camera view "Hiii Mads!" I said "Oh Ollie is there too! Oh yay."

"What's your news?" We asked Maddie at the same time "We're engaged!" She said pulling her hand in-front of the camera

"Oh My god" I said and my mom started tearing up. "Congratulations!" Harry said from the side "Who is that?" Mads asked "My boyfriend," I said and her eyes widened "Ohhhh!!! Thank you" She said "I am Maddie and this is my ~Fiancé~ Derrick!" She said emphasizing Fiancé

My mom and I looked over at Harry wondering if he wanted to be shown and introduce himself, he nodded "Hi! I'm Harry" He said in his deep English accent

Maddie and Derrick paused as they saw Harry who waved through the Camera on my mothers iPhone "Hi," She stuttered Not much else was said other than a few Hellos and more squealing and such

The rest of dinner went really well.

I think my mom and Harry liked each other and Here I was Happy that two of the most important people in my life were together, laughing and smiling
