Prolouge

| | Faith Hawkins | |

I woke with a start. I heard continuous popping noises.

I uneasily slipped out of my room silently walking down the steps.

I nearly screamed at the sight before my eyes.

At the bottom of the steps, my father, mother, brother, sister and other brother were laying there dead.

I rushed up to them tears spilling down my cheeks.

I looked at their wounds.

Silver bullets.

I have to get out of here.

I ran upstairs to my room quickly changing into some black pants and slipping on a black hoody.

We're going on mission impossible here.

I ran back down the steps carefully stepping over my families bodies.

I checked their pulse one last time to see if they were faking, but I got no result. Just as I was about to run, I noticed a piece if paper in my. mother's hand

It was a birthday card.

It said 'HAPPY BIRTHDAY FAITH!!'

On the inside, scribbled in my sister's sloppy cursive it read:

"Birthday wishes, from me to you,

In this world, there's nothing I'd rather do;

Than protect you from all the harmful things in life,

At least until you become a wife.

Our love for you is honestly un-ending,

You really don't know how much we love you.

So please, no matter where we go, just know,

loving you is one of the only things we look

forward to do.'

I than could make out my mothers neat handwriting,

'Love you Faith! Don't forget it! Happy 18th! Enjoy being this age honey. We love you!

From, Mom, Dad, Kim, Finn, and Jack.

Before I finally let those words hit me, I folded the card up neatly and shoved it in my pocket. For now, me and my wolf, will be hitting the road.
