Jungkook looked at Seokjin, who appeared peacefully asleep. It was not yet dawn and the vampire knew Jin would not wake up until sun touched his face.

So he took advantage of the moment and sat next to the boy. He beheld him with silence, and admiration, as he had been doing for a few years. To him Seok Jin was the masterpiece that he secretly admired.

He sighed, a few hours ago he had an argument with the younger before he went to sleep and all for a stupid thing that Kook seemed to give much importance. More than he should. But he could not help it, the closer it got to the 16th birthday of Seokjin, the more fear of losing him grew. He knew the arguments could take Jin away from him more quickly, but he could not help it. He was so much worried.

However, this was not the only fear that he would leave, and he would be alone again. but he fear himself as well. why? Because in the past few years, he begun to feel something different for the younger. The boy was no longer the child he had ever met in a forest, he was a sweet, affectionate and somewhat stubborn boy who caught his attention even with only breathing.

He was no longer a human baby whom he raised because he had awakened the feeling of compassion and affection in him, this was the boy he wanted to have by his side forever. He was no longer the kid who used to look for him to sleep together when he had a nightmare, he was the boy he wanted. And what JungKook feared the most, the desire, the love for the younger, that longing to keep him close forever. The life that he gave his dead heart every time he saw him.

JungKook loved Seok Jin so much and it hurt. It hurt him deeply to know that he couldn't have him by his side forever. He could not have him locked up in that mansion like a little bird in cage. He felt his love was wrong.

Loving a human was wrong.

‬He noticed the sun rising over the horizon, he should leave.

He left the room quietly and locked himself in his own. He wanted to avoid seeing Jin for the whole day, maybe because he was afraid that he would accept the envelope with money and the documentation next to the letter. Wherein the letter, he freed him from everything and allowed him to start making his own decisions, choose his own path. Or maybe because he would not be able to resist the urge to kiss him and ask him not to leave his side.

Seokjin woke up when the first ray of sun reached him. He stretched out on his bed and yawned. He take a glance at the calendar next to his bed.

"December 4", he read half asleep.

And just in seconds he remembered that today was his birthday.

In one jump, he get off the bed and walked to the windows to open them. He admired the forest that surrounded the mansion.

This was the day he turned 16, now he could visit the city whenever he want.

Suddenly the thought of vampire came to his mind. He ran out of the room to search for the older male. He wanted to see him on his 16th birthday. When he could not find him, he thought maybe he was in his room so he choose to not to disturb him.

Jin decided to go with his daily routine. He went down the stairs and was forwarding to kitchen when he noticed an envelope and a letter next to it. He took the letter and read:

So that your freedom is much easier... JK.

He wondered what could be in that envelope and left it on one of the furniture. He didn't care.

He resumed what he was doing, he had to make the breakfast.

After hiding for a whole day Junkook came out at 12 O'Clock at night. Jin must had been gone or...would be sleeping in his room.

He walked quietly down the stairs to reach the living room. And what he saw,

Seokjin was asleep at the coffee table, and a small sized cake in front of him and a candle seemed to wait to be lit.

Jungkook approached the younger, his heart squeezed when he noticed the dry tears on his cheeks. He realized that Seokjin waited for him all that time because he wanted to spend the day with him, not enjoying his 'freedom'.

He felt guilty to be cause of Jin's tears, he lit the candle and began to sing the birthday song.

Seokjin woke up and blinked confusedly for a few second, until he came back to reality and realized that this was really happening. He smiled radiantly when Jungkook finished singing.

"Happy Birthday, Jinnie."

Jin was so happy to see that special smile of Kook that was dedicated to him only. Smile, he had not seen for long.

He rushed to embrace the vampire tightly, feeling how he felt so complete having him with him again.

While on the other hand, Jungkook made a great effort to avoid telling him everything he felt.
