Chapter-5 the secret door

# Josh's POV #

I, daisy and the guard started waking upstairs. We walked in silence for sometime but then I broke it.

"So what is your name?" I asked,

"My name is pratap", said the guard

"So, Mr. Pratap do you know any history of this palace", asked daisy gently,

"Yes, and pratap is fine with me. I am same as of your age", said pratap.

"Wait a minute; you don't work here, do you?"I asked

"No, I don't work here", said pratap

"Then why are you here, and who are you?" asked daisy

"I am son of Mr. Rameshwar, and I am here because he said he would not be able to come home for two nights and so I thought of coming with him", said pratap

"Maybe because we were coming so he had to stay here", said daisy

"No he was here not only for you", said pratap

"Then for whom?"Asked daisy

"The prince and princess is coming to meet you people", said pratap

"Guys..... See this", I said

"Oh my god blood trail", said daisy in very low whisper

"Someone is coming, let's hide", said pratap

We hide behind the stairs and waited for someone to appear; suddenly a figure appeared in the dark and ran upstairs.

"Let's follow the figure", said daisy

"Come on let's go", said pratap

"No don't go", said josh

"If we got caught we will be in big trouble. We don't know who he is it may be dangerous", said josh

"I think you are right, josh we must be alert", said pratap

"I think we must follow the trail of blood it might lead us somewhere or to someone", said josh

"But there is just darkness where the trail is going how we will see the trail?"Asked daisy

"I don't know", said josh

"I know I will come in just a minute", said pratap.

Leaving me and daisy in the dark corner of stair he flew in the darkness.

"So are we going to talk about the thing?" asked josh

"What thing?" she asked me with a questioning look

"The hug and the kiss thing", I said to her in an obvious manner

She blushed and was about to say something when pratap dropped in with three flashlights.

"Here you go, we can use these to lighten our path, so we can see", said pratap

"Wait a minute, I think we should not go in there, it might be dangerous", said daisy

"Don't be scared, we have to go there and see what is there. May be there is our killer's hideout", I said

"He is right maybe we can find the killer. Then we can catch him and hand him over to police", said pratap.

She agreed to us and we went towards the door the door was made of iron and was rusted, we pushed it with a huge force and it opened with a loud creak. We moved forward with a low pace it was a long hallway closed from all side not a single window. We walk down the pathway. The walls were made of black stone and there was dust everywhere. We moved with great alert. There was so much silence that I could hear my own heart beat. We walked for few minutes and we reached at the end of hallway. There was another gate at the end of the hallway. We tried to push it but it was lock.

"Huh, it's a dead end for us, the door is locked we came here for nothing", said pratap in disappointment

"Don't be a drama queen, give a way", said daisy

Saying this she pushed us and took a hairpin from her head and started picking lock.

"You know how to pick a lock", I said in amazement

"Lucky be a lady", she said taunting me

We stood there for a few moments. Suddenly we heard a sound of click.

"Voila, here you go", said daisy

"I guess you are more than you look", said josh.

We came out of the hallway, and we saw desert in front of us.

"Where the hell are we?" Asked pratap

"I don't know maybe we are out of the palace on the backside", I said

We turned around and found ourselves in front of the palace wall. There was nothing nearby only the gate of hallway.

"I think it is an escape route for the murderer ", said daisy

"Whatever it is, it is dangerous for us to stay here, I have heard that at night sandstorms take place, so we must go back", said pratap

"We cannot go that way, we need to go around from the front of the place", said daisy,

"She is right we need to go through the front of the palace", I said.

So we closed the gate and ran towards the front of palace.
