Otto's POV

*Few weeks later*

The weekend, finally. Only, the first way to spend my Friday night is going for dinner at my dads colleagues house. (I just realized there is a hidden Easter egg in here 😂, comment if you know)

They need to work on something in the job so after dinner we have to stay for a couple of hours, therefore my mum said I could bring a friend or two, along with my brother. Just as long as there isn't too many of us.

Let's work this out. The parents who have a son, 3. Then there's my parents, me and my brother, 4. I'm bringing Johnny and Patty because they were the only ones free, and if I need to go through this, I'll make them go through it too, I'm such a great friend. Then lastly my brother is bringing one of his friends, 3. So that makes 10, hopefully that's fine.

"Hun, come on get ready, we're leaving in an hour, your friends should be coming soon and I've texted your dads colleague how many of us there's going to be" my mum explained.

I just dressed in my black jeans with a navy blue shirt and I heard the doorbell ring.

"I got it!" I heard my younger brother shout.

I went downstairs and saw Danny with his friend.

"Hey Matt"

"Hey" they were only 2 years younger than me and I always thought Matt was kinda cool.

The doorbell rang a second time and I answered it to Patty and Johnny.

"Hey guyssss"

"Why are we here?"

"Well you guys were the only ones free on the chat and my mum said I could have 2 friends max.

"Two friends max for what?"

"Oh yeah, so my dad is supposed to go to a colleagues house for work and for some reason the rest of the fam has to come too, I was told I could bring a friend or two because we have to stay for like 3 hours afterwords so here you guys are"

"Seriously Otto" Patty sighed

"Well you can't leave now"

"Can't we?" Johnny smirked.

"Nope"

"Plus, they have a son our age so we can just hang with him" I added.

An hour went by and we all left the house, it was about a 10 minute drive and we finally arrived.

My dad knocked on the door and it opened to a couple, maybe middle aged.

"Hey Len! This is my wife Wendy, my two sons Otto and Danny and they brought some friends just so they won't get bored after dinner, Johnny, Patty and Matt" he laughed.

"Nice to meet you all, this is my wife Clara, and my son Nick should be in the kitchen or dining room" he smiled, it looked almost, forced?

"Well you kids go in the dining room, make yourself at home, dinner will be about 20 minutes or so" Len said as him, Clara and my parents walked off to a different room. As I walked in, I could smell a hint of cigarettes and alcohol but it was as if they had sprayed something to cover it up.

We made our way into the dining room/lounge that were connected with no door, I could hear someone messing about in the kitchen while we all sat down.

Guess who just walked through the kitchen door.

"You've got to be fucking kidding me" Nick spoke

"Shhh, there's kids around, they don't know these words" Patty said as he covered my brothers ears jokingly.

"You and I both know that isn't true" Nick said whilst he placed the cutlery on the table.

He was wearing black jeans with a black long sleeved t-shirt. We knew why it was long sleeved, none of us had actually talked to him since we kinda locked him in a room. I noticed a bruise on his neck? Almost like a handprint?

Dinner came around and all 10 of us where around the diner table, Nick in between his parents with my mum on his mum's side, then me, Danny, Patty and Johnny in the other side with Matt and my dad on the ends.

Dinner was served upon us, it was lasagna and it looked homemade, yum.

"Nick, I thought I told you to light the candles on the table?" His dad said, with a hint of aggression.

"Oh, s-sorry" Nick said, almost inaudible. He stood up and went to get a lighter, when he came back he sat back down after lighting the candles and his dad gave him a glare. Huh?

"So, Nick, what do you do, got any hobbies? Other than school of course" my mum laughed.

"Uhh. I eh" he flicked his eye contact between us.

"I like art?" He spoke, almost as a question.

"Lovely"

"Maybe you could show the boys some of your art after dessert" Clara said to Nick who just kinda nodded.

"Otto's always had an appreciation towards art as he can't really do it himself" my mum laughed.

"Thank you, my loving mother" I sarcastically remarked but laughed to show I wasn't offended.

" Ok, I'll go get dessert ready, c'mon Nick" Clara smiled and they went off into the kitchen.

After dessert the parents went to Len's office and us kids were left to do whatever.

"Me and Matt are going outside if that's okay?" My brother asked Nick, who was now drawing in a sketchbook.

"Yeah that's cool, the key should be in the door, if not it'll be on the wall" He smiled back at the younger ones, who then ran off as they had brought a football with them for that very reason.

"So, Nick, how are you?" Patty awkwardly spoke. Nick raised his head and looked between our eyes as we were all looking at him expectantly. He sighed and began drawing into the sketchbook again.

"I'm not talking about that day, if that's what you are implying"

"Okay, how about we go up to your room?" Johnny suggested.

"Your not going to my room" he spoke, still looking down, drawing.

"You wanna bet" Patty smirked and began running up the stairs, Nick quickly following behind.

Nick somehow got ahead of Patty and when we all got up Nick was standing by the left side of his door with his arm holding onto the right.

"C'monnnnn" I started to push his arm.

"Noooo" he maintained a straight face. I managed to budge his arm after Patty distracted him with a little dance and I barged through the door.

"Fucking hell" he spoke under his breath.
