Nick's POV
To be honest, Friday came around a lot faster thats I expected, or wanted. Even though I was weirdly excited, I was nervous, nervous I'd fuck up, nervous I'd do something embarrassing, nervous I'd reveal too much.
It was the last class of the day and I was to meet them at this dead tree outside apparently.
I mean I've never seen a seemingly well know dead tree outside the school but hey, look where we are now.
Not at the dead tree, there's that.
I should've scouted the area beforehand, then I wouldn't be late right now.
After searching for a long 5 minutes - which doesn't seem long, but when you're in a rush or not wanting to disappoint people, it goes by a lot slower - I finally found the said dead tree, the guys standing around it in their own little world.
I hesitated a lot more than I'd like to admit, but when my name was called by one of them there was no turning back now.
So with a deep sigh I walked over, all eyes on me.
"Ready to go?" I just nodded, quietly apologizing for being late but they just shrugged it off.
"It's fine, this one over here is usually worse, the only reason he's not late this time is because I dragged his ass out here" Adam spoke, pointing towards Kellin who was throwing a peace sign as if saying 'yeah that's me, expect nothing less.'
And I smiled.
Bloody hell what are these people doing to me, I guess I was pretty happy that none of them cared I was late, unlike my 'parents'.
On the walk to Oli's house I made sure to learn all of their names. I didn't ask around, I just waited until one of them scolded the other or asked for something. And luckily, all their names were said at least once on the way home, well, apart from Awsten's, but it's chill because I already remembered his.
"Welcome, to my humble abode" Oli spoke as he led everyone in. The house was amazing, it was your average sized house, but the decor made everything seem so homey. It was at just the right time of day where the sun hit perfectly through the window, making the interior pop with light and feel so summery and oh god I'm so ready for the summer holidays.
They're not for ages.
Dammit.
Anyway, he led us to the kitchen to get some snacks and drinks, I of course denied the snack and just went with water, earning some glances but I'll deal with that later.
It honestly felt like I was intruding, or at least I thought it would feel like that. I thought it would seem like I didn't belong here, I would make things worse and they'd hate me. But actually, they made me feel welcome and I didn't feel left out for once.
For the first time in my life: I had a smile on my face throughout more than half of the day.
We all said our goodbyes, Lloyd and Patty walking with me to get home since we all lived pretty close to one another.
"So Nick?" I looked up at the tall boy, awaiting the question.
"I heard what the guys said....you'd let us be friends if you enjoyed today.....so?" He spoke, trailing off the 'so' nervously.
"So what?" I teased and Otto opened his mouth before shutting it abruptly after Lloyd put a finger up to tell him to shush.
"If you start singing P!nk I'm going to scream" Otto stayed silent until Lloyd removed his hand, and the boy burst into song.
"I'm still a rockstar! I got my rock moves!" He walked forward, playing air guitar as he sang and Lloyd groaned next to me, making me giggle.
"Not but seriously though, did you have fun?" Otto finally discarded his performance, but was now facing me and Lloyd, walking backwards.
"In all honesty....yes" I admitted, scratching the back of my head as I kicked a rock, narrowly missing Otto.
Both the boys first pumped the air and high fived each other, making me smile again.
"I'm texting the group chat-" Lloyd cut himself off with a gasp, making me look at him with a perplexed expression, waiting for an explanation as to why he just abruptly paused his sentence.
"Give me your number, I'll add you to the group chat" he finally revealed.
"Oh my god yes!" Otto added, still walking backwards by the way, I'm actually surprised he hasn't fallen yet.
"Oh, no I wouldn't want to intrude" I spoke quietly, shaking him off and all he did was show me his phone that held multiple messages of all the guys saying how much they wanted me to be added.
That made me feel all warm inside.
They actually wanted me to join the group chat?
Like actually actually?
And not just to please me?
They genuinely wanted me to me added.
With a little bit more hesitancy, I finally put my number into the guys phone, handing it back for him to edit the contact as he pleased and when I looked up I heard an;
"Oof" Otto fell over.
"That's for walking backwards you bafoon" me and Lloyd both burst out into laughter and I felt my phone ding with messages, revealing that I had been added to the chat.
Lloyd took a quick photo of Otto who held a pout as he attempted to get back up and sent it to the chat.
I heard myself get the message but didn't bother to open it since I had front row tickets to see what happened anyway.
We soon parted ways and I was relieved to find out that both Len and Clara weren't home. They had given me permission to go over, but I was still scared nonetheless.
That night I continuously texted the group chat, feeling a lot better texting rather than talking in person, I was more confident through social media.
I learned so much about the guys and they learned a lot about me as well.
Is this?
Is this the start of something?

I want some toast.

Aight I got my toast, new chapter, I'm surprised at how quick I got this out. I can tell you for a fact that they will not all be out this quickly, I'm sorry.
Again, I've now discovered that I don't really like writing in POV anymore and ugh that means I'm even less motivated to finish this book, but I also want this book finished before the other one so ugh idk.
Anyway, hope you enjoyed :)
(Sorry, I realized I forgot to name this chapter lol. Sorry if you got a notification)
