CHAPTER 25- Promise

MASON'S POV

Broken. That's what i was. I saw the pain in Melissa's eyes as she ran out of my office. Her beautiful eyes were filled with pain. I stumbled as i felt my heart getting heavier. My wolf was clawing my insides to come out and rip this girl's head of. "Wh-What did you put in that cake?" I asked as i found my voice back.

The girl just smirked. "Who the fuck even cares? My job is done. Now all we have to do is wait and watch. Watch your whole life getting ruined. And don't worry about your precious little mate. She doesn't even love you because according to her you cheated." She laughed shaking her head at me. Rage took over me. Mel loves me. She does. "You're gonna regret saying that." I held her against the wall as my hands gripped her throat tightly.

She started gasping for air. I could feel her heart beat getting fast. She was clawing my hands making them bleed, but i didn' care anymore. No one says that Mel doesn't love me. She mine and i am her's. We love each other. We are made for each other

"I am going to ask you once. Only once. Who are you working for and what do you want?" I made sure that i made the most deadliest ever. 

She looked at me and smirked. Next thing i know i am holding her against the wall with my hands wrapped around her neck. Her smirk disappeared in seconds making me smirk.. "What? Scared now?" She whimpers. "Tell me and i will let you go. But if you don't you're dead." I was angry as hell. She takes a deep breathe. "No." She says just above a whisper. I look into her eyes and shake my head at her before snapping her neck.

She falls on the floor with a thud. Someone is trying to separate Mel and me. Who is this person? I run my hands through my hair in frustration. I put on my clothes and mind-link a pack soldier to get the body out of here. I need to find Mel. I need to tell her the truth. I walk out the office and run towards the reception to find Sam and Caleb sitting there with worried looks on their faces. 

Sam stands up as soon as she sees me. "What did you do? What happened in there that it made Mel running out into the forest crying?" She shoves me a little to get and answer. " Answer me damn it. What did you do to her?" I looked at her and blinked. "After the meeting, I went to my office. There was a knock and i let the person enter. It was a girl who is new to our pack. She had bought cake for me and asked me to eat it. I can't remember what happened properly. But the next thing i know, Mel is at the door and when i look down, I see a girl wi- with me inside her." I say in a voice which was barely audible. Sam gasped and took a step back. 

"I swear Sam. I don't know what i was doing with that girl. It was like someone else was controlling my body. I love Mel. I would never do anything like that to her." Sam pinched her nose and took a deep breath trying to decide what to trust. "You've to trust me Sam. I promise i didn't know what was happening." Sam looked at my face. And nodded. " I trust you. But you need to give Mel some time to cope with what she saw. She won't trust you so soon. She didn't have a good past with boys and you know how she is." She looked at me with sympathy. 

"We came here to tell you that the house burnt. No one knows how the fires started. And Mel was inside the house while we got out. Nathan saved her." I clenched my fist as i heard Nathan's name. But i relaxed when i realized that if it wasn't for him Mel wouldn't be alive. 

I sighed. "We're staying at the  beta's in house until everything is back to normal. Go there and wait till Mel gets back. Tell her what really happened and give her time. She loves you too. I know she does, she just doesn't trust anyone easily." Sam said. I nodded my head and started walking out the door. 

I got in my car and rested leaned my head back closing my head remembering Mel's pained face. I started he car and started driving towards the beta's house. its a new Beta as Mel's father retired and Brandon isn't old enough to become one. 

I reached the house and got greeted by an empty house. I opened the door as it was already unlocked and went upstairs to the guestroom. I went inside the bathroom and stared at myself in the mirror for what felt like 5 minutes. I freshened up and changed quickly.

I went downstairs and sat in one of the couches and waited for Mel to come back. 'Where is she?' Xavier asked getting worried. 2 hours have passes but Mel hasn't come back. 

I stood up and started pacing around the room. I heard a knock. I ran towards the door opening it find Mel.

Mel. My Mel rejected my. I heard her car start as i was on the floor. All broken and hurt. Its all my fault that my Mel left me. I was finding it hard to believe that Mel rejected me. But what did i expect? To her to love me and forgive me after what i did?

I got up from the floor and ran my hands through my hair in frustration. Its all my fault. I smashed the table that was in front of me. I threw a vase that was in front of me. Tears flowed down my face as images of Mel crying came to my mind. I feel like someone is stabbing my heart again and again while rubbing spices all over it. Is this how it felt to be heartbroken? I lost contact with Xavier the second she rejected as he lost Sierra at the same time i lost Mel. 

Why? Who is behind all this? Who is trying to separate us? I don't know who did this or why they did it. But i know that I'll kill that person the second i find him. And that's a promise.
