"Yes, we do actually." The German Shepherd nodded.
And so the introductions commenced.
The German Shepherd's name was Namjoon, and he was also like the leader of the group.
The white cat, which you learned was a Turkish Angora, was named Seokjin. He seemed to like making jokes.
Next was the Ragdoll who was named Yoongi. He seemed like a very lazy cat, but also seemed to have a cold exterior.
The reddish-brown dog was actually a dog breed known as a Vizsla. His name was Hoseok and he was, in fact, a pretty happy and energetic dog.
The Calico cat's name was Jimin. He seemed shy, but literally a second later would become a bit of a flirt.
The Golden Retriever, Taehyung, was also a pretty energetic dog. He also acted pretty silly, which made me laugh.
Lastly, the black bunny introduced himself. His name was Jungkook, and he was a Mini Rex breed. He was very shy and seemed to want to avoid you, but you weren't sure why.
"What's your name?" Seokjin asked, his white fur seeming to glow.
"M-My name?" I asked. "My name is (Y/n)."
With all of them looking at me, I felt uncomfortable. They seemed to be making sure that I'm a trustworthy person.
"Well," Namjoon started. "It's nice to meet you again, (Y/n). And thank you for helping us."
I shook my head. "It's no big deal really. Unfortunately though, I can't keep you guys here." At this, their heads dropped.
"Why not?" The once energetic Hoseok asked, now making puppy eyes that were getting harder and harder to resist the more I stared at him.
"Because..." I paused. As much as they needed a home, I couldn't exactly provide everything for them. Sure, I had a decent paying job, but most of that money went to: paying bills, taxes, and grocery shopping. I felt bad that I couldn't really help them.
I looked down. "Because I don't have enough money to support all eight of us. I barely have enough to buy myself something every once in a while."
We all sat in silence. They don't want to live on the streets anymore, I can see it in their eyes. But in all honesty, what can I do?
"I know!" Taehyung said suddenly. We all turned to look at him. "What if we stay here during the night, and go out during the day?"
It wasn't a bad idea, but wouldn't they struggle in finding food? What if Animal Control were to get to them without me knowing? The thought of them stuck in kennels worried me.
"Are you sure you guys will be ok?" I asked.
"Of course!" Responded Jungkook. "We've made it this far, I'm pretty sure we can handle it."
I was still a bit skeptical about the idea, but until I'm able to properly help them, I'll just have to do what I can for now.
"Alright. Just be safe out there." And with that, I walked them back to the front door to let them out.
Watching them leave kind of felt like I sent my kid to school. I knew I could trust them being on their own, but I was still worried for them. Once they were out of sight though, I was finally able to focus on the main question.
What am I going to do to be able to help them?
A/N:
Hey you guys! So sorry for not updating the story for over a month, but I am back! I didn't mean for this to happen, but hopefully it doesn't anymore.
I got a bit busy with moving so I haven't been able to work on the story much. The longest it should take me to update is at least a week, so if I don't, feel free to bug me haha.
But yea, again, sorry for the inconvenience and thank you for reading this far!
