It's been a few days now and the strays were starting to get more comfortable around me. Everyone except for Jungkook, he's the only one who seems to want to keep a safe distance away from me.
Other than that though, things are going pretty dandy. I was able to get a part-time job at my aunt's bakery, so once I get my paycheck, I could hopefully pay a visit to the pet store.
Walking back home from the bakery, I went to the front door to unlock it. But the thing was, it was already unlocked. I started to panic a bit since I didn't know who was in my home. But there was only one way to find out.
Slowly, I walked inside and closed the door quietly behind me. Nothing seemed out of place, which was good, so I continued looking around. When I turned the corner of the hallway, that's when I saw two figures standing at the end where my room was.
Crap! I forgot that Mom and Dad would come back home today after their business trip!
"Mom? Dad?" They both turned to look at me.
"Sweetie!" My mom exclaimed, while walking towards me. "We thought you were still in your room, so we wanted to surprise you."
After our little reunion, my dad spoke, looking at me. "Where were you anyways? You don't usually go out at this time." My mom nodded, showing that she was also curious as to where I have been.
"Oh, I was working with Aunt Janet at her bakery." I said casually. My mom's eyes narrowed at the mention of her sister's name.
"And what on earth were you doing there?" She asked. Both her and her sister weren't exactly on good terms with each other. For what reason, I'm not so sure, but when it comes to choosing sides, I just walk away. I love them both, but I wouldn't want to hurt their feelings.
I sighed. "Because I needed a bit of money for something." "For what?" And as if on que, there was scratching at the door. I checked the time and sure enough, it was 6 in the evening.
"What was that?" My dad asked. I looked at him nervously. "N-Nothing?" I said with a smile. My mom hated animals, she even made my dad get rid of his old dog. If they, and by they I mean my mom, found out that there were strays outside my door, then I would be in trouble.
My parents started walking towards the door, eager to see who or what was outside. I tried to get their attention or at least distract them, but they ignored me. Once they opened the door, the strays immediately ran inside.
Seokjin went straight towards the kitchen, Yoongi and Hoseok jumped onto the couch, Namjoon sat next to the couch with Jimin following behind, and Taehyung and Jungkook were running around chasing each other.
I was in a state of shock until my mom screamed.
"WHAT ARE ALL THESE ANIMALS DOING IN OUR HOUSE?!" That's when the strays took notice that I wasn't the only human there. They just sat where they were until my mom ran to the storage closet and took out a broom.
"OUT! OUT! SHOO!" She yelled while swinging the broom at them. Namjoon, having gotten up from the floor, growled and caught the broom in his mouth. While they fought, I got the attention of the others and took them to my room.
Once they hid under my bed, I went back out to the living room where I saw my dad holding an aggressive Namjoon and almost throwing him out the front door. My mom looked at me furious.
"What have I told you about animals in the house?!" She exclaimed. "Mom, they needed help. I wasn't going to leave them out in the-" "Well, you should have!" She then walked to her and my dad's room, him following after her while giving me a slightly sympathetic look.
After hearing their door slam closed, I ran to the front door to see if Namjoon was still there. Luckily, he was. I sighed a breath of relief while I walked him back towards my room quietly. Once I closed the door, the rest came out of their hiding places.
"Who were they?" "They were mean and scary!" "My nap was interrupted thanks to them." "They made my beautiful fur puff up!" "Quiet!" I said, unable to understand them. After a minute, they settled down.
"Look, they are my parents, but my mom hates animals. My dad doesn't, but to make her happy, he tries not to get close to any animal. He even gave up his old dog so she could stay with him." After my explanation to them, they grew a bit worried.
"Does this mean you're gonna kick us out?" Jungkook asked, his ears drooping. I went to go pick him up. He stiffened as soon as I touched him, but later relaxed in my arms.
"Of course not. I told you that I would help you, and that's a promise." I kissed the top of his head, then set him down. Before I could speak again, there was a knock on my door.
