"Your majesty! You need to be careful of where you are cleaning!"
I try to call her out to warn her of the imminent hazard that could possibly befell her.
"Don't think of me as a frail maiden! I can handle at least this mu- Whaaaaaaaa!"
SPLASH
Amaterasu slips on a patch of wet hardwood floor and falls on her back. The mop that she was holding flies up into the air and hits the bucket full of soapy water near her, spilling the contents all over the floor.
"*sigh* Told you"
It's been a good 4 hours since our initial break. We continued cleaning Amaterasu's room but we kind of ran into some problems, the problems being Amaterasu's inability to use any of the cleaning tools that i give her. Though i guess this is to be expected, she looks like a child that is trying to clean for the first time. You'd think she'd at least know how to properly use them from looking at other people or even me use them, but no. Everything that could go wrong, went wrong. It didn't even help that i introduced her to the vacuum cleaner. When i first showed it to her, she immediately jumped and started spouting nonsense like when i showed her the torch.
"Here, your majesty"
I reach out my hand to her to help her get up. She lies there still staring at me for a few seconds and slowly reaches for my hand. Once i had a good grip on her, i slowly pulled her up to her feet.
"Well... looks like we have a lot more to clean now"
She looks away from me from the embarrassment of falling, evident by her drooping ears. Her ears and tails have been very useful in determining Amaterasu's mood and how to respond to her.
"Why do we have to do all this?"
She says while she goes and picks up the mop that she dropped. She places the bucket back up properly and tries to clean up the puddle of water that spilled.
"Well in the first place, i expected tatami mats when coming here. But when i got here, i got hardwood floors instead"
I take my mop and help Amaterasu clean up the mess that she made.
"Well it just so happens that tatami mats don't last for a very long time"
"Wait. Don't tell me that those piles of fluff in the corners are the tatami mats?"
"...yes"
She answered softly while she continued to mop the puddle of water.
"So there aren't any secret rooms or spaces or anything like that?"
She doesn't answer.
"Well then what about the silk and cloth strewn about everywhere a while ago?"
Again, no answer. I didn't pay attention earlier, but now that i look at Amaterasu's room, there are a lot of things here that you don't expect from a typical Japanese palace. Tables of different designs, really old decorations that don't belong here, hell i don't even know if the concept of a drawer existed in ancient japan but for some reason there's one here! In the first place, including the tables and chairs that we destroyed yesterday, this is way too many for one person! And i'm pretty sure normal Japanese beds only consisted of a blanket and pillow and maybe a platform for the mattress, not a full on bed frame. Also, i just blurted out silk cloths since i thought it would be nice, but not only is she fine with it, she even made good use of it.
But then again, i was an idiot for ordering Cu Chulainn to get these things for me. And he is an even bigger idiot for actually getting it.
"Your uhh... Your sense of aesthetics is rather odd, i see..."
