TMNT Ninja Tribunal

Chapter 14

After returning to the Tribunal and presenting the artifact, it was well into the night. Everyone headed back to their rooms for the night, but Firewing headed tot he beach. She walked along in the sand, feeling the night breeze. She had lite her pipe again continued to walk.  The moon lite her path and the waves rooled up onto the shore. Everything felt in peace. 

"Instead of following me Leo, you should just ask if you can wlk with me." Fire spoke out loud. "Don't you think?" She said with a smile. Sure enough, Leo stepped out from the brush that was keeping him hidden. "Come." She waved her head and continued to walk.

How did she know? Leo thought. He had taken every percaution he knew. He finally caught up to her. 

"So. What's on your mind?" She asked. She only looked ahead.

"I-" He began, but couldn't find anything to say. They walked in silence for a while till Leo found something to talk about."So did you know it was me?" 

"Everyone has their own smell to them. It is how I can tell who is with me and who is not." She said with a chuckle. "I could smell you as i just stepped ontot he beach."

"Why didn't you say anything?" Leo asked. 

"I though it would be funny listening to you tumble through the brambles for while. And it was." She smiled and looked up at him. She stopped walking and Leo stopped as well. She turned to him and reached up. She pulled a twig from his mask and smiled. " You are interseting." She said with a giggle. 

"Really?" Leo asked with a smile and a chuckle. 

"Yeah. Usually, someone would just ask to walk with me." She said begining to walk more. Leo began to follow but she stopped and turned her head to the water. Her eyes shown sadness and pain. The moon's light reflected off of the water and shined on her eyes. Her hair blew in the wind. Fire then leaned back and let her body fall into the sand. She closed her eyes and smiled. "I don't like sleeping inside." Her eyes opened and gazed up at the sky. "I feel trapped." 

Leo walked up next to her and sat down. "I can't remember the last time I slept outside. I think it was a few years ago when I went camping with my brothers and two of our human friends." Leo rested his arms on his knees, he looked out onto the water. 

"It must be nice..." Fire began. "Living in one place." Her voice was sad, but had a little cheer in it. 

"You dont have an actual home do you?" Leo asked, looking down at her from where he sat. 

"Well... I have a small apartment in Japan." She said. "I live witha good friend of mine there. His name is Sebastian. I alos have a pet named Sasuke." She smiled. "Wonder how they are doing..." She trailed off. 

"I didn't know you had a pet. What is it?"

"Just a snake." Fire smiled. "A king cobra. Big one too." 

"Wow." Leo said. He began to laugh a little.

"Do you have a pet?"

"Yeah. Mikey brought home a stray cat one Christmas. He named him Klunk." Leo smiled.

"Aww. That's cute." Fire said with a smile. "I like cats." 

"Yeah." Leo chuckled.

Fire turned her head back up to sky and watched the stars. They sat in silence for a while. Firewing was the one who broke the quiet. "It's a beautiful night." 

"Yes. It is." Leo sat looking up. He turned to look at Fire. Her eyes seemed to be glowing a little. The starlight reflecting off of her eyes.

"Would you like to learn how to fly?" She asked shyly. 

Leo looked down at the sand. "I dont have wings."

"I know." She smiled and turned towards him. "But i do. I can fly for both of us." She turned to the water. "I just thought tonight would be a good night to put two things that make me happy together." She suddenly relized what she had said. Never speaking about her feelings like that to anyone made her heart skip.

Leo back over at her, but her face showed no sign of emotion until she turned to look at him. Her cheeks grew to a bright red color. "Ok." Leo said. Fire smiled and stood up, grabbing Leo's hand. "You wont drop me. Will you?"

"I wont let you hit the ground."
