TMNT Ninja Tribunal

Chapter 12

Forgive slowly opened his eyes. His ears were ringing after the loud crack and explosion. The air was fill with dust. He had taken cover behind a boulder were everyone else had been. Joy was to his left and Raphael to his right. Adam and Tora were across from him only four feet away. Mikey and Donny had taken cover behind another boulder a little ways away. Foragie could barely make out anyone. He could just see the figures of his comrades. Leo had set the feather off, but where was he?

Raph began to move quickly to look out over the destruction of the cavern. Bits and pieces of the ceiling had fallen and littered the floor. The dust was too thick to see anything more than 15 feet away.

"Roaring Wind!" He heard his brother Donny yell. Suddenly, a powerful gust of wind swept through the cavern.

Then Raph could see everything.

It looked as though the whole ceiling had come down in different places. The floor was cracked here and there, and pieces of the giant centipede were scattered around as it's blood dripped from the walls,  stained the surrounding rocks. It's stench lingered in the air. The whole cavern cleared of the dust. But there was no sign of Leo.

"Leo!" Raph yelled. But only the sound of his echo replied.

"Leo?" Joy yelled but she too had the same response. Suddenly, Mikey took of running.

"I heard movment! Over here!" He said as he dissapeared behind a huge boulder and mountain of rocks. Raph and Donny followed, then the other four.

At first sight, there seemed like nothing but boulders and clutter,  but something stood out from the rest. It was big. Suddenly,  it began to move. Everyone grabbed there weapons thinking it was another monster. But when it began to roll, it was a giant bird covered in dust. It had it's back turned to the group and was laying on it's left side. When it rolled onto it's back, it unfolded it's right wing to reveal Leonardo in a curled up ball. The bird's right wing layers flat on the ground.

"Leo..." The group heard Firewing's voice rang in there heads. "Y...You are s-safe." She spoke in a quiet voice. She was in some kind of pain. Leo unfolded himself and rolled off of Fire's stomach and onto the floor.

"That was you?" He asked breathless.

The eyes of the bird opened, and it's mouth open as well. It's head rolled to the side so it could look at Leo. A thick stream of a dark red liquid began to pool out from the beak of the bird.

"Yes." She spoke again, her eyes slowly closing.

" What's wrong?" Donny asked Fire as he ran up next to her.

"My wing....." Her voice was weak and faint in his mind. "It is under.. The rock."

Raph ran up to her followed by everyone else. Her left wing was crushed under the rubble from the explosion. Raph and Leo began to remove the rocks to reveal her wing. They could tell it was broken.  It was crippled all over. It bent in ways it wasn't supposed too.

"Where else are you hurt?" Foragie asked.

"I do not know. I can not feel anything." Her voice was even more faint. Foragie looked over at her body and saw several places where blood had began to seep through her feathers.

"Will you be able to change?" Donny asked. "I can examine you better."

Fire took in a shuttering breath and then slowly let it out. Flames began to form around her body and everyone stepped back as her body changed back into a human. The damage to her was severe.
