Chapter 2 - New Friends?

"Hey, I'm Miracle. Welcome and happy to have you," says the girl with baby blue eyes and a long, red ponytail that shines when she walks.

"Thanks, so what are your powers?" I ask.

"Super speed, Lightning Manipulation, Kiss of Death and Water Manipulation," she tells me.

I nod as someone else introduces them self to me "Hey, I'm Mason," a cute boy with brown eyes and a hot, trendy hairstyle says.

"I have Fire Blasts, Healing, Night Vision and Force Field," he says, proudly.

"Wow, badass," I say.

I turn around to see a handsome man with silver eyes who also has a hot, trendy hairstyle "I'm Kyle. My powers are Levitation, Magic, Camouflage and Martial Arts," he says.

I turn around to see who else is left "I'm Amory," a cute guy with another hot, trendy hairstyle and aqua blue eyes says. "My powers are super hearing, I'm able to breathe underwater, Enchanted Vision and Alligist," he finishes.

"So are there anymore of us?" I say out loud.

Amory answers "No, I've checked for years and it looks like we're the only ones," he says.

I nod.

Faith is just sitting down eating.

"Faith, that's rude to just come in and sit anywhere you'd like to eat," I say.

"Please, I'm sure they'll be fine with it," she says.

I look around to make sure no one is looking at this embarrassment.

Turns out only Amory is staring. He looks at her then me. He walks up to us.

"Sorry, she doesn't mean to come in like this," I put one finger on the table as a sign of embarrassment.

"Chill, they're cool people but you can go over there and do something," she says, carelessly.

"It's fine, I promise. She can eat, there's no rules here," he assures me.

Slowly, I nod.

I walk over to chat with Mason "So what do you guys normally do here," I ask.

"Take a guess, cuteness," he says.

I think "Train," I say, hesitantly.

"Bingo," he announces to me.

I nod.

"Every day we train to gain control over our powers," he says.

I nod as a sign of understanding.

"Let's see what you got," he locks eyes with me and says, standing in a position that says he wants me to try and punch him.

I laugh for some reason but I'm not sure of the reason.

Mason's POV

"Let's see what you got," I look at her eyes.

Big, brown and full of life.

The color of a deep sienna, they glow when she laughs like humor and playfulness got married. It wraps you in a warm embrace and gives you shivers at the same time.

I stand in a 'ready to attack' position, to say "punch me" in that way.

As I await her next move, she laughs.

Why?

"What's so funny?" I ask.

"I'm not gonna punch you," she says, simply.

"Why not? Are you chickening out?" I tease her.

"Chickening out? Me? Ha, no. I'm giving you a chance to chicken out before something goes missing," she says.

"Damn. You're one cocky girl," I say.

"I'm not cocky," she says.

"Yes you are," I test.

"I'm not cocky," she says, a bit angrier.

"Are too," I say, smirking at her as a sign of teasing. "C'mon, cocky. Hit me," I tell her.

"I'm. Not. Cocky," she says as she takes her jean jacket off, preparing to fight me. "Okay, you wanna go. Let's go," she says.

She steps forward and swings.

Misses.

"Gotta be quicker than that," I say and laugh.

Her expression serious as she swings and after she misses she swings again.

She smirks.

Why is she smirking?

Just as I begin to wonder that her knee comes up to knee me in the balls.

"Ow-shit!" I wince in pain as I fall on my knees, giving up.

"Gotta be quicker than that," she repeats my words and smirks than walks off.

"Anyone else want some?" She announces to everyone.

Everyone goes silent.

"Thought not," she says and then mutters "Pussies," then goes to stand where Amory and Faith is.

Wow, she is really badass.

I think I need a little badass in my life.

Finally the pain has gone away and I stand up when Sapphire announces "Lunch is ready."

I end up eating by Sapphire and Kyle.
