Chapter 2

Luke's P.O.V. 

I thought that because everyone could come to my house for Thanksgiving, even Michael would be a good idea.  Calum and Ashton told me how much they missed him, so they gave me the idea. In addition, even Mr. Clifford would have been our guest that day, so he could have used that little happiness at least for that day.  "Lukey, what shall I bring? I haven't been to a sleepover in a while. " Michael was poking around in his toy box, looking for something to bring. "Michael, you don't have to bring any toys. Lauren and Lily have a lot of them at home to play with. " I told him. He nodded and closed the box.  "They also have the costumes and the tea-party set?"   "Yes, and they also have a dollhouse with lots of dolls." I took him away from the toy box and went to the little closet he had in the room.  There was not much seen that at last he often wore the same clothes.  I took some and folded them into the suitcase he was carrying. On the front were depicted several Disney characters, which is why Michael wanted to buy it.  "But now that we go out we will buy new toys?" Asked Michael "I don't think Lauren and Lily have superhero items so we should buy some!"  "Are you trying to trap me to buy you some new toys?" I lifted an eyebrow.  He tried to keep a serious expression, but he ended up chuckle. "You know me too well, Lukey! But can we go to the toy store? "  I knew I couldn't say no to him, especially when he put on that puppy face. "All right, but we have to wait till tomorrow."  "Yay!" He embraced me, giving me a kiss on the cheek. "You're the best friend ever, Lukey."  Friend.   I tried to do my best not to think about it, I crushed my throat and I ended up fixing Michael's suitcase.  "A--Are you ready to go?" I asked, trying to do my best not to end up in tears. I couldn't certainly do it in front of Michael.   "I take Daniel and we can go. " He looked round the room, finding then Daniel tucked under the blankets of his bed. "Are you excited about the sleepover from Lukey?"  As always, there was a little silence in which Daniel was responding.  "He says he's excited too. He can't wait to see Lauren and Lily, he likes them very much. " He said, keeping Daniel close to him.  I took Michael's suitcase and his hand and started walking down the halls of the building.  Michael greeted several nurses and patients, always politely.  I stopped in front of the main counter to sign his exit and take his meds before going away.  "Nurse Kelly, I'm having a sleepover tonight at Lukey's!" He smiled at the nurse, while he was trying to explain to me how his meds were working.  "I see." She smiled heartily. "Why don't you go sit down while I talk to Luke?" Michael obeyed and went to sit in the chairs, where he began to talk to Daniel.  "Then, as I was saying Michael takes this every morning." He handed me a little bottle containing a brown liquid. "He takes a spoon." She explained.  I nodded, examining the little bottle before putting it in Michael's suitcase.  "And besides, Michael can take this here if he starts hurting his head. It happens a bit often, so make sure you always have it at your fingertips. " She also handed me the bottle with the pink liquid and I put away that too.  "Thank you so much. I'll Make sure he takes the proper medicine. " I Smiled.  I did to leave when nurse Kelly stopped me.  "It's very cute, the way you treat Michael. Someone else would probably have left him here to rot... while you're always so active in his life. It's a really nice thing. " The tears in his eyes began to form. "I--I'm sorry. It's just that he's such a nice person and it's so sad to think about what he's been through. "   I nodded in understanding. "I love him too much so I can forget. He deserves to be happy and I do my best to make it so. " "Nurse Kelly? Why are you crying? " Michael jumped out of his chair and ran to embrace her. "I'm fine, Michael." She said, returning her embrace and sighing. "I'm just sad that you have to leave me for this sleepover. But it's okay because I'm sure you'll have a lot of fun. "  I could not help but soften myself to that sight. Michael has always had some impact on everyone he meets, and it was really a sweet thing to see people holding on to him.  "I'll come back, nurse Kelly!" He promised. "And I'm going to bring you back something." He dissolved his embrace and put himself beside me. "Now can we go, Lukey?"  "Of course." I took his hand again. "It was a pleasure to meet you, Kelly. I'm going to make sure I bring Michael back. " I chuckled. When I reached the car Michael was instantly moved to the sight of the nose and reindeer ears on the car. Lukey! Your car looks like Rudolph! " giggled, pointing to the red nose.  "It was Lauren and Lily. Before they wanted me to put them on. " I said as I put his suitcase in the trunk.  He put himself in the back seat of the car and helped him fasten his belt, and then he asked me if I could do the same thing with Daniel. (which I finally did really.)   I got in the car too and started driving. The Christmas songs were in the background during the trip and Michael looked out the window.  "So, do you know who else will be there?" I turned a moment to watch Michael and then brought his eyes back to the street.  "Who else is there?" He asked him enthusiastically.  "Calum and Ashton. Do you remember them? " Of course I do! " I nodded. "I can't wait to see them again! Are they still engaged? "Calum looked at Ashton the way I would look at an Oreo. "  I could not help but laugh at his choice of words. "Yes, Mikey. Now relax, we'il be home soon. "
