I ran back into the dressing room. My adrenaline still pumping from the dance. I put all of my thoughts into my dances.
"Hey that was amazing," I turned to see Olivia entering with Ryan. Ryan's her boyfriend. I awkwardly smiled and then went back to taking my mask off.
"It was alright I guess," I muttered. I was happy with the dance but I'm always thinking about the memories after. After all, they influence everything I do. Like they say, a parents voice is a child's inner voice.
"Are you joking, that was awesome," Ryan said walking closer to me. His eyes look like they were going to pop out of his sockets.
I nodded and started take my hair down. I just needed to breathe.
"Well, anyway, I hope you don't mind, but me and Ryan were going to go out," Olivia said taking her hair down as well. "Can you get home by yourself okay?" Is she being serious. I have no money, no car or way of transport. I live 20 minutes away at least.
I rolled my eyes and puffed out.
"Sure." I really didn't want to start a huge conversation.
With that, Olivia jumped up and down and ran excitedly out of the room, grabbing Ryan's arm in the process.
Within minutes I was left alone in the dressing room by myself.
I rummaged through my bag to double check if I had change, but nothing. So since I couldn't really go anywhere, I decided to go back to the hall. It was empty so there was surely no problem of me being there.
As I entered, I switched on the spotlight and put my bag in the corner of the stage. I pressed play on the stereo and made my way to the middle of the stage.
When the music started I began to dance. Letting the music control my every move. The feelings, they motion. I loved it all. I loved the feeling of being free.
As the music stopped, I realised there was someone watching me. It didn't take long for the person to realise I had seen them before they disappeared. How is that even possible?
Feeling creeped out I went to the front of the hall and as I was about to walk off, a car beeped. It scared the holy crap out of me and thought I was going to be kidnapped. But as I got closer I realised it was just Macie and Cheryl.
I hopped into the car as they offered to take me home. But there was a slight problem. They didn't know where I lived, no one did. If they found out I would be so humiliated. All of my friends are loaded and I'm, well broke.
I got them to drop me off a few blocks down my road at a really posh looking house and waited for them to leave.
As they drove off I started walking in the opposite direction.
It was really cold outside and I only had a very thin layer of clothes on but I knew my house was only around the corner.
As I came through the door, my mother was waiting for me and started shouting.
"Where the hell were you?" I really wasn't in the mood for an argument.
"I went on a walk," she rolled her eyes at my pathetic answer.
"Just go and do your homework," I was tired but I knew I had to. If I didn't she would check. And then everything would escalate and I really wasn't in the mood for all of this.
I walked into my room and threw my bag into the corner of my room. Before I could get out my books for homework I got into bed and fell asleep. I can do homework at school, right?
