I looked down, his arm still around my waist. My eyes started to well up with tears but I managed to stop myself from crying. I had learnt multiple ways over the years to stop myself crying and I wasn't going to start opening up now.

The guy dropped his arm from my waist and left towards the house.

"Stay out here if you want but it will get cold," he said not turning back. I didn't expect him to.

I didn't want to go inside just yet so I decided to wander around. I'm sure he wouldn't mind, he left me out here anyway.

Since I was exploring I decided to go over to a big tree with a swing. I sat down and pushed myself by kicking off of the ground. I never really had those childhood memories of the park or any fun experiences.

So I just sat there and started thinking, getting lost in what had just happened.

That guy was really hot and I couldn't stop thinking about him. I was finally able to get a good look at him.

He was about my brothers age or maybe one year older, so 20 or 21. He had black hair. His big green eyes were gorgeous. I could definitely get lost in them if I looked into them for long enough. He had a tiny bit of stubble but it looked really good.

I can imagine kissing him. His lips looked so soft. Hold up, I just met this guy and I am already fantasizing about kissing him. Okay.

I sat there for a few more hours just contemplating life until something scared me from behind.

"Shit, you scared the fuck out of me," I screamed as Josh grabbed my waist. "I didn't even hear you pull up."

He laughed before saying, "That's cause I'm as slick as a ninja."

I looked at him awkwardly and concerningly until I also started laughing. At this point I hadn't even realised it was dark. Shit, where am I suppose to sleep?

Just as I was thinking about where to camp out for the night, Josh wrapped a blanket around me.

"You weren't planning to sleep out here were you?" he asked smiling. "Or is Elijah making you stay out here?" Elijah, that's the guys name. He does look like an Elijah.

I giggled before shaking my head. I didn't want to go inside but it was so cold right now I honestly didn't even care.

Josh lead me inside and up to a guest bedroom.

"Tomorrow you can talk to Elijah, you won't have to go to school. And I will get Julia to get you some pyjamas," I nodded as Josh listed everything. It was nice that he had thought this out. He was going to be a good friend of mine.

He was about to close the door behind him as he left before saying, "Good night Amara." I was shocked and sat on the bed with my mouth gaping open. How does he know my name?

I sat still for the next few minutes in confusion. I tried to stop thinking about it and ended up deciding I would talk to them tomorrow.

As I walked over to a mirror I looked through the doors for a hair tie. When I found one, I quickly threw my messy brown hair into a messy bun and sat back down on the bed.

Suddenly a knock on the door scared me. "Come in." I shouted and a lady entered. "You must be Julia." I smiled at her and she smiled back. Well at least she seemed nice already.

"Yes, Josh sent me up to give you some clothes and check on you. I understand you might have some injuries," she said and I looked down. I didn't like to talk about what happened behind the doors of my house. I was only ever once taken to a hospital for an injury and that was when Logan beat me so hard I ended up with a broken leg.

"Look, don't worry. You're safe now," I looked at her confused but she didn't say anything.

She came over to me on the bed and just checked for any broken bones.

"Does anything really hurt?" she asked. The answer was yes but I wasn't going to say that. Plus I was used to injuries so the pain was always the same. It probably wasn't serious.

I shook my head and she stood up collecting all of her things. She said a quick goodbye before leaving and closing the door behind her.

As she shut the door I went to look at the silk pyjamas she had given me. They looked very expensive so I didn't put them on. I didn't deserve that luxury. But it's fine. I would leave any day now and go back home.

Tiredness came over me as I climbed into the bed and as soon as my head hit the pillow I was out like a light. Until the next morning when I would have to talk to the dreadful Elijah.
