Jumping over fallen tree trunks and dead animals, I ran as I somehow become a prey of a freaking coyote. I ran and ran, attempting to making run fast enough in order for me to hide somewhere. I sure hope the coyote doesn't have a strong sense of smell. The stupid thing was on my tail with vicious teeth. I jumped under tree trunk and sprinted, going another way and finally losing him. I took a deep breath.
Now I was lost, it was the middle of winter and I was alone. Where the hell was my camp sight? I walked back towards where I ran from. As I was walking back though I heard a whimper. I slowly walked towards it like the nosey person I was, hiding behind a tree and looking over.
The creature was like the one's we hunted, well my family did. He was shot in his leg and being held down.
"Put it out of its misery!" One of the pigs yelled.
"No I want to see it suffer." They were both ugly looking, red necks. I looked down at the creature who was lying there helpless. His back facing the others. I caught it's eyes and it just stared at me. I need a way to help him. His eyes looked pleading. I accidentally stepped back and stepped on leaves and they heard me looking my way. I hid. "Go check, Tom." one of them ordered Oh shit. What did I get myself into? Stupid Tyler. I looked around looking for a way to escape. Damn. "Look what we got here Brian." Tom grabbed my arm and pulled me up. I squirmed and tried to get away. I did the only logical thing, I punced him with the back of my hand.
"Don't touch me!" I yelled. Tom held his already ugly nose as it started bleeding.
"I'll show you!" he launched at me but I kicked him in between his legs. He fell, his face red and clutching his parts. I grabbed his gun and pulled off the safe button pointing it at him. I knocked him out with the gun and the pointed it at the other hillbilly.
"You probably don't even know how to use that!" he laughed evilly. He pointed his gun at me. "You're dead kid!"
"Leave it alone!" I snapped. He looked scared but tried to hide it when I shot at him.
"I ain't afraid of a kid." I proved my point again at being able to use a gun by shooting his arm.
"Leave." This dumby tried shooting at me but I dodged it. I was raised by overprotective parents and siblings. I knew how to self defense and a use a gun. "I'm warning you. Grab your friend and leave." he looked shocked but helped his friend and left, holding his arm. I dropped the gun not believing I actually used it. I looked at the creature which looked like a wolf. His leg bleeding. He was shivering. I took off my jacket even though I was freezing and put it over him.
"It's getting dark and I don't know anything around here. We'll just have to stay here." I ripped a piece of my shirt and wrapped it around his leg to try and stop the bleeding. Once accomplished I petted his head running my fingers through his black hair. He closed his eyes relaxing.
I sat there looking around. It was darker and now I could barely see the trees. I closed my eyes and tried to think of a better place. I was freezing and shivering.
The creature all of sudden stood up wobbling and tackled me to the ground. At first I thought it would kill me but then it started snuggling against me. His fur was warm and comfy.
